it was yet another day where she had to go to school and go through the normal routine she was stuck in. her parents had already left for work so she had the house to herself and she sat and made herself some cereal to munch on. even though the house was empty and silent sydney didn't mind being alone in the mornings. she wasn't the easiest person to deal with after waking up so not having to bother with anyone worked out just fine for her. and she could always watch cartoons that her parents thought would rot her brain. watching the little characters attack each other sydney couldn't help but giggle once in a while as she ate her food. once she was done she made her way back up to her room to get dressed. sydney looked through her closet for something simple and weather fitting to wear. it was hard to find clothes that didn't have some paint on it but she finally did. pulling on her clothes she looked at herself in the mirror and began fixing her hair. sydney was going to have to dye it again soon because the red was beginning to fade and she much preferred it when her hair was bright red. maybe on her way home from school she could just buy some dye from one of the stores nearby. finally ready sydney grabbed her backpack and all the books she needed and left the house. checking that it was locked behind her she skipped down the steps and started walking towards school. sydney could always take the subway or some other sort of transportation but she honestly didn't mind walking. she liked walking through the city and seeing all the interesting people that were always around. it was much more fun than sitting in a crowded subway where there was barely any space to have breathing room.
it didn't take her long to get to the school so the first place she went off too was her locker to drop off some of the books she wouldn't need until after lunch. when she opened her locker a note fell out and sydney bent down to pick it up. opening it up there was a simple message telling her to go to central park after school. sydney had no idea who had written the note or why they wanted her to go to the park for some reason. sydney stuck the note into her pocket and grabbed the books she needed while she went off to her english class. maneuvering through the crowd of people she entered the room and took a seat in the middle of the class. propping her legs up on the seat in front of her she took the note out again and looked it over one more time trying to figure out why someone would leave her a note like this. there was nothing at the park that she had any particular interest in and she didn't know why she needed to go there. her thinking was interrupted when the person who sat in front of her arrived and she lowered her legs. leaving the note in her pocket she began talking to her friends and waited until class began. the school day went on as it normally should and it was time for sydney to make her way back home.
walking home sydney was thinking back to the note and she wondered if she should go to the park and see who was waiting for her there. if someone was actually there that is. taking her ipod out of her bag she stuck the headphones into her ear as she continued walking. it would be stupid of her to go to the park when she didn't even know what to expect. what kind of person just did whatever an anonymous person told them to do? thinking this was the right thing sydney walked all the way home and entered her house putting her bag on the floor. taking the note out once more sydney's curiosity was starting to get the better of her. grabbing a piece of paper she wrote that she was going out to get hair dye and left the house. at least now if her parents actually came home from work on time they wouldn't worry about what she was doing. walking quickly sydney made her way towards the park wondering who or what was going to be there. once she reached the park she began looking out not sure what she was looking for. the park was pretty big and she was really hoping whoever wrote the note hadn't left.

Wiping the sweat that dripped down from his forehead, Tuberose smiled. There. It was finished. Taking a step back from where he had been working, bringing the little fancy hammer thing with him, Tuberose looked at his masterpiece. The tent was just your average tent, nothing too special or grand. It had enough room for about two-three people, though, and Tuberose was positively sure that it was bigger than his last tent had been. Of course, the last tent he had constructed had been with Sydney, and that one had been made out of pillows and whatnot. But this one---this one was certifiable one hundred percent tent. And, even though one side seemed to be a little bit more droopy than the other and the door flap was a little wonky, it wasn't even half bad. Tuberose was rather proud, actually. At least he could tell that it was a tent. Or something along those lines, if you used your imagination and tilted your head sideways while squinting your eyes. Yep, it was definitely something to be proud of in Tuberose's opinion. But that wasn't the only thing he was proud of, that's for sure.
It had been his idea to drop off the letter in Sydney's locker earlier that morning, too. He had considered hiring planes to write out his message in the sky, but that had been too risky. What if the stupid pilots spelled her name wrong? Or did it when she was in the bathroom? That would have just been a mess and anyway, Tuberose didn't really want to spend a bunch of money. So a note had totally been the way to go. A grin passed over his face when he thought about his brilliant plan. And people said he was stupid? Psshh. No one would be laughing when Sydney forgave him and everything was just dandy again in his life. Looking back at his . . . beautiful?. . . tent, Tuberose couldn't imagine how Sydney could say no to him once she saw it. It nearly brought a tear to his eye just looking at the poor thing. Maybe not. But it did make him really happy. He hoped that it would make Sydney really happy, too. It only made since that she would love him for creating their camping trip. They had talked about it last time at her house and it had seemed uber fun at the time. Then they had made that tent together and it had seemed like an even better idea. And then he had kissed her and everything had gone to hell. But, crinkling his nose as he thought, that was exactly why he was out here in the park building a god damn tent. For Sydney. He wanted to fix anything that he had broken between them, even if he hadn't yet grasped that idea. Tuberose couldn't bear the thought of Syd being mad at him, and in a strange and misled way, this was his attempt to make everything better.
Now all he had to do was wait for her to show up. The park was a big place. . . And suddenly Tuberose was worried that she wouldn't be able to find the tent! He had been forced to go back into the very middle of the park---where many people didn't go very often to hide from any park patrols. Tents weren't necessarily welcomed . . . But Tuberose knew he had to make her this tent, and it would have been totally awkward if he had made it in her backyard without her permission. Her dad probably would have let the giant centipedes eat him. And Tuberose definitely didn't want that! So the park it had to be. Now the only problem in his plan was the whole Sydney actually showing up part, or you know, the most important ingredient in his recipe of forgiveness. Sweat trickled down his back from his tent building efforts and Tuberose stood up straight under the sun. He'd just have to go find her himself then! It didn't even cross his mind that she might not have even showed at all. Creepy letters telling a young girl to go to the park weren't that strange in Tuberose's mind, and he figured that everyone would have followed the directions.
Grabbing his backpack that held all his vital supplies in it such as apple juice (he owed Syd a few boxes), a little stuffed bear he had named Mr. Fluffety-Fluff Sparkle two years ago, a packet of dried fruit in case he got lost in the park, and a dora the explorer water bottle that was remarkably empty. . . Yep, Tuberose knew that he couldn't leave any of his stuff behind or else someone might steal it. Shouldering the pack, Tuberose made his way through the trees towards a little path that snaked it's way through the park. He started running when the fear of Sydney leaving crossed his mind. We all know, however, that Tuberose is one of the worst runners on the planet, and by the time he lost all his energy (two minutes into his jog) he was huffing and puffing like some sort of pig-eating wolf. Coming to a stop, Tuberose looked around him. He had absolutely no clue where he was! Scanning around him, though, Tuberose saw a few people, so at least he knew that he wasn't completely lost. Unless everyone there was lost and they were all just going to die together because one emergency fruit packet couldn't possibly last that long when divided amongst them all?! Tuberose was about to scream in fear when he noticed something that made him smile and begin to wave his hands in the air. "Sydney! Ooooh! Over here, Sydney!" He couldn't help but shout in the direction of the girl with red hair. He would know Syd anywhere. Other people looked at him as he called for her, but Tuberose didn't care. The only thing that mattered was that Sydney had came!

running her hand through her hair sydney walked through the park pausing by one of the benches and taking a seat. she had to catch her breath for a few moments because she had rushed to get here. even though sydney was a fan of the outdoors she wasn't a big fan of exercise so she probably wasn't in the best of shape. practically running here didn't help that at all but she didn't want to miss out on this situation. the curiosity alone would probably drive her insane if she didn't know who was here looking for her. leaning back she scanned through the crowds. most of the people at the park were families all here with their kids. sydney watched them with a small smile wishing her parents were the type to take their kids to the park just because they could. the only places they really went together that was even mildly fun would have to be museums. though they rarely visited the art museum which was the only one sydney really cared about. but at least her parents had taken her there once and she was able to look around. as soon as she was old enough she always made her way there when she really needed some type of inspiration. there she could see paintings from amazing artists that she wished she could at least have half the talent that they did. even though it was a big stretch sydney would even love to see her painting on the same walls as there's were. just to say she was in the same museum as at least one of those artists would be an accomplishment. getting off her bench she decided that walking around would probably be much better. at least then she had a chance of them seeing her and calling out to her.
sydney continued walking around the park trying to figure out why she was there. pausing for a moment she heard her name so she looked for the source. though she wasn't the only one looking around because whoever was yelling for her was rather loud. finally realizing who it was sydney smiled for a moment glad to see tuberose. though the smile faded as soon as all the memories of what happened rushed back to her. but seeing how happy he was to see her made it rather hard for sydney to be angry at him. bitting her lip she started walking towards him wondering why he had called her here. though now that sydney thought about it the note in her locker was definitely something he would do. she had been avoiding him recently so he had no chance to talk to her about what had happened. it wasn't that she was still angry at him it was mostly just her feeling embarrassed and confused about the whole situation. finally reach him she gave him a small smile and a wave. so i'm guessing that note was from you? she asked him wondering why they were at the park of all places.
(sorry its short!)

Tuberose smiled at her, his face alight with some emotion that was a mix between pure joy and mischievousness. He didn't notice that fading smile, or the obvious hesitation with which Sydney walked towards him. All that Tuberose was aware of was that she was there! It seemed like forever and a day since Tuberose had talked to her, and his little heart was just about to burst. Of all his friends, Sydney was definitely one of his favorites. There was just something so special about her . . . But for some reason he hadn't seen all that much of her over the past week, or so. Well, actually, ever since that day he had gone over to her house. And well, the kiss. But Tuberose couldn't connect the dots in his mind, nor could he pause his excitement in seeing her long enough to put the two together. He was just simply ecstatic that she had even listened to the note and came out to the park. Despite the fact that Sydney was now standing before him, Tuberose gave a big wave back in response to her little one. "I have no idea what you're talking about, Syd," Tuberose replied with a grin and a wink. "I think you might be hallucinating things. Whatever the little purple people tell you to do, don't do it." His voice was quite stoic, as if he truly believed in what he was saying. Of all the hallucinations, the little purple people were always the worst for Tuberose. Of course, that was a story for another time. . . Changing the subject quickly, Tuberose reached out to grab Sydney's elbow.
He smiled at her and attempted to drag her with him, off into the direction he had came from. "But now that you're here, I do have something I need to show you," he told her. He couldn't help but imagine Sydney's face when she saw the tent! She'd be so surprised and happy and her heart would be so joyous and everything would be much better between them. She'd talk to him in the hallways again and they would just be cheery all day with no troubles or problems in the world and there would always be a rainbow in the sky and the leprechauns would give away their pots of gold just because they were so happy for Tuberose. Or. . . Tuberose figured something along those lines would happen. All he knew for sure was that his plan would make everything much much better between them. One time he had gotten his mom really mad at him after mismatching every single pair of socks they had in the house, and she had threatened to ground him for a month. Of course at the age of five, that hadn't really been much of a threat, and yet Tuberose had been so scared. He didn't want his mommy to be mad at him! So he had refolded all the socks in the drawers around the house in an attempt to make nice with her. He had done it all wrong once again, but it had been the thought that counted, right? So it was the thought that counted behind his efforts of the tent, not if it was actually pretty or what Sydney wanted to do with her evening. She had to be happy because Tuberose had put effort behind it. Or at least that was Tuberose's thinking as he looked at Sydney with a grin on his face. "It's uber special and I know you'll just love it."
He hoped she would. Because if Sydney just looked at him like almost everyone else did at the school---like he was a complete imbecile---than Tuberose didn't know what he would do. He might be oblivious to many things, but Tuberose knew when someone thought he was stupid. Maybe that's because he'd lived his entire life on the receiving end of those looks and by now he'd just gotten used to it all. All he truly knew was that Sydney had always made him feel good about himself, and that when he was with her he had so much fun. He didn't want to lose that for anything in the world. And yeah, he might have messed up with the kiss. It might have been a bold move that didn't belong between them, but Tuberose couldn't really see why. After all, it had just been innocent fun. He didn't understand why Sydney avoided him, or why she suddenly treated him differently. The last time he had been with her . . . well, she had told him to leave without much of an explanation. It had scared Tuberose more than almost anything else had before. He didn't want things to be strained between him and Syd----they were supposed to be bestest friends! But it was obvious that something wasn't right, even to Tuberose. That's why he had made the tent! And that's why he was going to show it to Sydney and she was going to love it. Then they'd spend the day in it together and fix whatever was broken between them. By the end of their little adventure, Sydney would love him again. As he looked at Sydney with happiness in his eyes, Tuberose had a sudden and yet terrible thought. What if she really didn't think the note had been from him and she ran off to find the person behind it? That would be disastrous! Making a surprised sound from the back of his throat, Tuberose spoke up once more, the words coming out in a rush. "Oh, and it was totally me who put the note in your locker, Sydney!"There. Now nothing would get in the way of his diabolical plan of forgiveness and fun!

really? you have no idea how this note got into my locker? she asked him with a raised eyebrow as she held it up. it was obvious that he was lying especially because he winked right after he said it but sydney decided she may as well play along with it. it would be interesting to see where this would turn out. she smiled when he spoke about her hallucinating and seeing little purple people. that was just the kind of thing she would expect tuberose to say. it seemed as though no matter what mood sydney could be in he always knew what to say to make her pause and take in what he was saying. well maybe i should wait for them, they must have left me this for an important reason she said pretending to think out loud and trying to look serious. but then if she stayed here whatever tuberose had been planning would have been ruined. then he would have to be forced to admit that he was the one who wrote the note. though sydney wasn't sure how long she could wait for these little people to show up. she had to make sure that she was home soon after her parents got there just in case they were suspicious to why she was gone for so long just buying hair dye. her dad wouldn't even like the fact that she was dying her hair. he loved it when she was a small and boring brunette. that way she would seem more serious about everything she was doing when it came to school. but with the bright red hair at least people were more likely to remember who she was. it would be perfect for interviews because they would be like oh sydney yes that girl with the ridiculous hair. or at least that was how she saw it in her head.
something to show me? she repeated surprised. what would he have to show her at central park that she hadn't seen before? but knowing tuberose whatever it was he had to show her it had to be interesting. he was holding onto her elbow and she walked along with him curious to what he had in store for her. whatever it was it had to be something interesting and something that there was no way she would expect. maybe he had ended up getting a pet or something? but no then he probably wouldn't have left it alone. though sydney wasn't sure if tuberose would be the most responsible pet owner around. she could see him letting himself become easily distracted. sydney wished she could have a dog or a cat. any type of animal in the house would be absolutely amazing and she could have a little companion in the house. she would probably spend hours just sketching the little things that her pet did here and there. but her dad would be opposed to having an animal run around and ruin the house they worked so hard on creating. sydney tried hard to convince her dad to let her get a dog but all her efforts were useless. but her aunt jenny had a dog so she could always go over there and visit. sydney loved dog sitting for her when she was too busy to do it herself. i'm sure i will she told him with a small smile. seeing how excited he was made sydney even more curious to what was going to happen. but she really couldn't think of what he could possible be showing her. this was central parks what could he have in store here that would be so special that he would be this exciting.
sydney looked over to tuberose and wondered if this was all because of what happened at her house the other day. the obvious answer was yes but sydney didn't want to believe that she made him go through so much trouble just to get forgiveness for something that wasn't really all his fault. he didn't know how sydney would react to a kiss, even sydney didn't know how she would have reacted. but all she knew was that she wished she could have changed how things had went between the both of them. she wished that she could have just casually brushed it off and they could have continued on with their day as if nothing had happened. if she did that then they wouldn't be in this type of position. then sydney wouldn't have had to waste so much time trying to avoid him and they could have been hanging out together like they always did. tuberose was an amazing person and he didn't deserve to be treated the way she had been treating him. he turned to look at her and sydney couldn't believe how happy he was to be with her now. she moved his hand from her elbow and grabbed his hand entwining their fingers. this way it was easier for them to walk together and she liked the feeling of his hand in hers. i can't wait to see what it is she told him with a genuine happy smile. she was going to make things go back to normal no mater what. she didn't want to lose one of her good friends over something stupid like this.
(sorry it took me five trillion years to reply to this i just couldn't find muse! it was driving me insane. )
