when the devil wants to dance with you ,YOU BETTER SAY NEVER because a dance with the devil might last you forever - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The average person was always somehow, somewhat always excited on their first day of school. New clothes, new school materials, new teachers, new friends, etc… And then there is Caleb Herrington, a guy who spends the least amount of time possible in school but makes sure enough that he graduates, even if his report card has straight D’s. Here….we….go….again he thought after he parked his midnight blue Scion Tc in the school lot as he was making his way up the steps. For Caleb this was just another school he had to bear until he was either kicked out or decided to leave and move to another part of the country.
Wait…he said to himself before his arm managed to pull the entrance door to the school to let him in. This calls for a celebration he thought to himself as he reached his arm in his back pocket and pulled out his Marlboro Lights cigarette package. Caleb slid the top open as he pulled out his favorite red lighter and a cigarette before making sure the pack was safely in his back pocket. There were too many times where he carelessly slid it against his pants thinking he put it in his pocket and dropped it on the ground without noticing and walking away only to realize later that it was long gone.
Caleb imagined he was late to his first class because the steps to the school were completely empty, it almost seemed dead. Oh well, just means there won’t be someone trying to bum off a cigarette from me he thought to himself as he put the cigarette in his mouth and pressed the lighter’s flame on taking his first hit. Mmmmm…better he said quietly as he inhaled the tobacco letting it take over his body and after a few seconds blowing the smoke out. Caleb stood there for a few minutes until all he had was a cigarette the size of half his thumb as he flicked it onto the grass and picked up his bag spraying himself lightly with his cologne.
As he walked into the school, Caleb pulled out his schedule trying to figure out where his first class was. Minutes later he walked into his English class where his teacher was writing something on the board. He saw Caleb walk in with his jet black sleeveless shirt covered by his leather jacket leading down to his faded blue jeans, and black timberland boots. The teacher looked less than pleased and this caused a slight smirk to run across Caleb’s lips. "“Ok class this is our new student Mr. Caleb Herrington, he just transferred from Fresno, California and I want you all to make him feel welcome” the teacher announced to the class.
As Caleb ignored the teacher’s introduction, he peered around the class looking at the semi-tired students in their seats hoping that there would be some motivation for him to come to this class so early. Then his eyes stopped in their tracks. That’s what I’m talking about he thought to himself as he spotted his first victim. A very attractive girl with a light caramel complexion; long, straight, smooth, brown hair. Caleb’s lips formed a small smile then suddenly was distracted by a hand on his shoulder. "“Ok Mr. Herrington, take a seat” the teacher announced. "“My pleasure” Caleb sarcastically stated as he walked through the desks and so happened to find an empty one behind this gorgeous girl. He put his bag down on the floor next to the desk and took his seat, Caleb was liking this school already.

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
English was one subject that Jenna actually somewhat enjoyed staying up until three o'clock in the morning studying for- especially this particular one. World Literature was so much fun to research and Jenna didn't mind if that classified her as a 'nerd' or not. Sometimes it got tedious but Jenna would easily take world lit over a math class or a science class anyday.
Speaking of science class... did I finish all of my ap biology homework last night? Jenna thought hard for a second, retracing her steps from when she got off work at eleven the previous night. Ah yes, she'd done it, Jenna finally remembered. That was close. Biology was hard enough for the junior, let alone advanced biology, and she couldn't afford another not-so-great grade in that class. Of course she was passing all of her other classes with flying colors, something about sciences didn't really click with her though. She wasn't doing too bad in anatomy though, Jenna thought, quietly tapping the eraser of her pencil on the desk as she thought.
The loud voice of her world literature teacher brought Jenna's attention out of her thoughts and back to the front of the room. She was introducing a new student that claimed to be from California. Not only did the thought of a new student grab Jenna's attention, but it seemed like the perfect distraction from her wandering mind. The boy was tall and had sort of a 'bad boy' aura about him, noticing the smirk growing on his face at the teacher's displeasure. This brought a small smile to Jenna's face as well, before subconsciously letting out a tiny giggle. Luckily enough for her, the teacher didn't quite catch it.
The new boy, Caleb, walked down the aisle of desks before settling in the one behind Jenna. A smile remained on Jenna's face as this gave her the perfect opportunity to welcome in the new student, the Jenna Taylor way. Once the teacher was safely turned back around to write on the board, Jenna turned her head slightly around to Belmont's newest student. "California, huh." She grinned.

Caleb wasn’t the dumbest guy on the block, he was actually somewhat smart when it came to doing work, he just chose not to do it most of the time. Ever since he was younger Caleb noticed the displeasure most teachers had with him, without him even having to pick up a pencil. Because of where he came from and his situation, they figured that he was just another ‘bad boy’ or troublemaker so Caleb figured that if they think he’s a troublemaker, he’ll be the best troublemaker he could be. Caleb didn’t have to try hard to do it anyway.
As soon as Caleb entered the room, he didn’t think it’d be any different when he saw the teachers reaction; sure he was a little late but what student wasn’t at least once a day? Fuck it he thought as he just continued looking around the classroom. What caught his attention was the giggle of a girl because everyone in the class sat still like zombies or something. Caleb smirked a little, hmm someone with a sense of humor he thought as the teacher dismissed him from the front of the class. Caleb didn’t mind, this only meant he could walk over to a desk and either fall asleep since he was still somewhat exhausted from not sleeping enough or try to get the girl’s attention.
Finally he thought to himself as he walked through the aisle of desks. The only introductions Caleb liked were the ones that he did on his own, when the teacher did it, it was weird to him especially with so many eyes on him. As Caleb sat down he rested his hands on the desk and lowered his head closing his eyes, he’d talk to the girl later or maybe tomorrow. California huh? He heard a feminine voice say, right in front of him. Caleb smirked thinking that didn’t take very long. He wiped off the smirk into a nonchalant face as he sat up to talk.
“Hmm? Oh yeah, I lived in Fresno most of my life, then decided to move because I got bored of it” he said obviously lying but it was better than the truth. “Quick question though, who put the stick up the teachers ass?” he said nodding over to her still writing on the board. “It was you wasn’t it?” he joked around with a slight smirk. This girl was extremely good looking, he hoped most of the girls In the school were that way too. He thought that this girl must have had a boyfriend if she looked that good Sucks for him he thought thinking about the fun things they could do together. He waited on the girl’s response as he rubbed his face.

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
Jenna listened to the new guy talk, secretly imagining what it would be like to be able to move simply because you got 'bored' of an area. Jenna could remember countless times when life in Jericho, her hometown, got dull but of course she had to stick it out, knowing one day she'd get out of there.. which of course she did. Jenna was the prime example of the saying "If you want it bad enough, work for it and you'll get it". She loved setting goals and achieving them, but of course maybe that was just her 'rags to riches' story in itself.
She giggled at his comment about the stick being stuck up the teacher's ass. Ms. Crosby wasn't exactly the most lively teacher Jenna Taylor came across. The lady had to be at least seventy years old and had claimed to travel all over the world during her younger years. Yeah, that would be pretty cool and all if she didn't have a sour attitude all the time. Jenna imagined Crosby lived alone with her forty cats and read high-end literature and didn't own a television. She giggled again at the thought. "No, it wasn't me," Jenna smiled, loving this boy's playful attitude already; it could really lighten up the class and make it a little bit easier to come to everyday. "Maybe it was one of them," Jenna whispered, pointing to the front row of overly-eager stereotypical nerd students. Of course she felt the ever slightest pang of guilt in her gut when calling the kids out like that because honestly Jenna was just like them... with a makeover. Hygiene was very important to Jenna, that was probably how the two types of kids different. Same origin, different approach. She smiled for a second over at the boy before extending a hand, "Jenna Taylor."
Introducing herself had became so natural now, seeing as how Jenna did it essentially everywhere she went: at parties, in the classroom, outside of the classroom, at work, in stores, etc. As if it wasn't clear already, Jenna loved meeting new faces. The more the merrier, Jenna always thought.

Caleb was definitely focused on the girl in front of him rather than the teacher who was going on about Shakespeare and literature. She seemed so innocent, so sweet, and he loved it. Soon he could imagine himself lying about how he is horrible at English to get her to help him, she seemed like a smart girl, and he would be a very good student with her. What is it about her? He thought, sure she was another pretty face but something else kept him interested as well besides her looks. Caleb could already figure out that she probably wasn’t the type to hook up with a stranger seeing as how she wasn’t throwing herself at him.
Caleb laughed along with the girl when she denied the blame to the imaginary stick up the teacher’s ass. “Uh huh, right” he said with a smirk jokingly stating that he didn’t believe her. Caleb kept eye contact on her while she spoke. He would definitely try to find out if she was attached to someone sooner than later, he could not pass this girl up for a second. If she was with someone, then he would just try make Jenna think the guy is a complete ass and leave him, and who would be there for her when that happened? That’s right….Caleb.
Caleb looked over at the group the girl was pointing to and laughed a little. “Eh, could be, but then again they could also be the only reason she likes teaching because they actually pay attention….unlike me and you” he said looking back over to her with a small smile. “But who knows…” he said with a careless shrug before looking out the window. New York was definitely brighter than California right now. Then suddenly, in his peripheral vision, Caleb saw what seemed like a hand then he looked back over and head the girl speak once more to introduce herself.
He smiled a little wider and met her hand with his, noticing how soft and fragile her hand was Caleb didn’t give a really tight grip like he’d give another guy. “Nice to meet you Jenna, I’m Caleb Herrington” he said locking his icy blue eyes with hers. Only been to one class and already have my first…..challenge he thought to himself. “I’m lucky to have such a friendly classmate on my first day, who knows what would have become of me if it weren’t for you” he said teasingly, in a small way, meaning it. Time to play the game he thought…..

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
"Caleb Herrington," Jenna echoed, nodding her head slowly before revealing a small smile, "The pleasure is mine." Jenna liked this boy, he seemed like good company to her; then again, she wasn't always the best at reading people. It wasn't that she was naive or was easy to take advantage of, she just enjoyed people and preferred to see the good in everyone. Even with Emily, Jenna tried her very best to see the good in her but she it was physically impossible for someone in Jenna's position to do. To Jenna, Emily was ruthless and vengeful, unnecessarily spiteful and downright disgusting. Jenna liked to carry herself in a more... conservative manor- more respectable. She'd always been told to gain respect you had to convey respect, and that's always what she tried to do. At this point, Jenna didn't care if Emily liked her or respected her; Jenna didn't respect Emily from the very beginning. But Emily wasn't important at this time, no one was except for this new guy, Caleb.
Jenna laughed at his sweet compliment, then grinned. "That's awfully nice of you to say, but it's really not much. It's who I am; I like making people feel welcome," She smiled humbly, glancing up at the teacher that was frantically scribbling down notes on the board. Yes, Jenna was typically a diligent student but this was an exception. She could always get caught up on the notes later, borrow them from a classmate or something. Belmont's one-girl welcoming committee was at it again, and this was right up Jenna's alley. She actually jumped at the sight of a new face in the halls. Annoying? Eh, maybe, but after all it was Jenna Taylor. Most guys wouldn't mind getting welcomed by her in the slightest, and girls seemed to see her as a relief. It was a win-win, or so Jenna thought.
She turned around to make eye contact with Caleb's icy blue eyes once again. His expression was soft and kind- what would give her a reason to think Caleb was anything but a good guy? Besides, he definitely wasn't hard to look at in the slightest.

Caleb only smiled when the lovely Jenna repeated his name. She had a gorgeous voice to go along with her body. He smiled when she said the pleasure was hers. “no no no, the pleasure is all mine” he said with a playful wink joking around with her. The first thing Caleb would probably do after class would be to snoop around and find out more about this girl. If she was seeing anyone, who her friends were, etc… This girl was too good to pass up for an easy lay, Caleb was sure that it would be challenge, but he liked a challenge.
When Jenna laughed and grinned at his cheesy comment, Caleb also laughed a little knowing that things were still running as smooth as possible. “Well I’m a nice guy…” he shrugged when she began her statement. “I mean sometimes people don’t talk to you because you’re new and they’re scared and other times they think your dumb just because you’re the new kid and try to use you, so believe me when I say it’s not easy being new, and it’s relieving to know that there are still some very outgoing, gorgeous, and intelligent people who give me a chance” Caleb said with a smile obviously referring to Jenna
“So, tell me more about yourself Jenna, and in return I’ll tell you whatever you want” he said with a shrug and small smile. Perhaps he wouldn’t tell her everything, or would stretch the truth out, but he definitely wanted to get to know Jenna more. To Caleb, Jenna didn’t seem very threatening so he knew she wasn’t the type to try to use him, perhaps she was just genuinely nice. This only meant that she would be nice to him despite the fact that he was somewhat of a…..manwhore. He could probably play the nice guy card with her making it seem as if everyone is out to get him.
That would be pretty entertaining he thought for a second, especially if he got her boyfriend or whoever she was seeing upset, Caleb enjoyed that. People thought Caleb was a natural prick but he can honestly be a good friend and fun, as long as you don’t try to judge him the wrong way, reveal who he actually is to others, and blatantly express your disgust for the kid. Only then will people truly know what Caleb is really capable of. Caleb smirked a little as he waited for Jenna to start talking…

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
Jenna knew what Caleb was doing at this point, and honestly she got it a lot. Many guys would try to flatter there way to her, showering her with compliments about how she was "so gorgeous" or "so sweet and caring" or whatever else she wanted to hear. Not that Jenna didn't believe Caleb's intentions were good or anything, she just thought it was sort of humorous that he would play the cards like Jenna didn't get this often. Caleb was sweet though, Jenna knew that much already, and right now that was alright with her. Besides, who didn't like being showered with compliments? Whoever it was was definitely not Jenna Taylor.
"Tell me more about yourself, Jenna." She heard, a small smile creeping back on her face. Jenna looked down at the desk that Caleb sat at before looking up to make eye contact with him again momentarily. She looked back down at the desk, "Well, I'm a junior, I'm the junior class captain for the varsity cheer squad, I was a level 10 gymnast before I moved to Manhattan, I work two jobs," Jenna spoke in a soft whisper, "I love to go out and be social, meet new people. Uh.." Jenna thought long and hard about what she was going to say next, "I haven't had sex?" She giggled quietly at her openness. Yes, Jenna Taylor would outright lie about her virginity, but it was almost like she had to, to get the point across. She loved talking about herself, but at the same time she often felt like she was rambling on about things that the listener cared nothing about. Caleb said he wanted to know more about her though, right? Well, he certainly got it.
Jenna bit her bottom lip before meeting eyes once again with Caleb, this time holding their eye contact much longer. She wondered how he would take all that in. She shouldn't have mentioned the thing about the gymnast, that was dumb– he probably didn't even know what level 10 meant. Jenna secretly regretted bringing up the thing about her 'virginity' as well, but as far as she knew he wouldn't find out either way if it was the truth or not. But that's what happened with Jenna when she let her mouth run free, she rambled.

Caleb probably had the attention span of a dog, one minute he could be focused on something and the next it would be somewhere completely different. As Jenna was talking, he glanced around the classroom wondering if he would try to catch someone else’s attention another day just in case Jenna was ever absent or something. Some guys seemed emo, others seemed way too preppy for his company and some girls had the words ‘slut’ written all over them. Well let’s hope Jenna isn’t absent a lot he thought to himself as he pulled his attention back to her and smiled a little nodding as she continued to talk.
Some things he found useful and others not so much “junior…one year younger…cheerleader…means she’s VERY flexible….gymnast? damn REALLY flexible, nice….two jobs…not bad….etc.. etc…never….had….what!?!? he thought to himself keeping his reaction within. Jenna telling Caleb she was a virgin was like putting a big rare piece of meat in front of a tiger…..in other words…Caleb was now even more determined to stick to Jenna and ease his way into her life in hopes of a ‘special’ reward. Caleb obviously wouldn’t pry about this very personal detail, instead he would play his cards right.
“Two jobs? Wow, and you go to school? Seems like you have a lot on your plate there” he said with a small smile meeting eyes with hers when she looked back up at him. He gave her a slight brooding look and let out a smile. he asked as he “So where do you work exactly?”leaned back in his chair. He was definitely interested in Jenna now more than ever and had no intentions of leaving by her side.

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
So maybe Caleb Herrington wasn't a bad guy afterall, or so he didn't really seem that way to Jenna. She'd just practically thrown out the answer to the question that seemed to normally be on every guy's mind, and he didn't even flinch. Perhaps Caleb was one of the few, genuine guys that didn't make much ado about sex. God, Jenna hoped so. With everything that was going on with Rigg, a different guy that actually just wanted to be her friend would be a definite relief. Not that she wasn't happy with Rigg, it was honestly just beginning to scare her. All of her emotions were so easily on her sleeves when it came to him- Rigg had the ability to completely break Jenna down if he wanted to and that certainly was a new thing for the brunette junior.
"Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, but I try my best to handle things as much as I can," Jenna told Caleb, practically swelling with self-pride. Yes, Jenna's life was hectic and stressful but somehow she found a way to work around it and still have a smile on her face at the end of the day- which was obviously a lot more than many people could say. "I work at the Starbucks in the city and at a local restaurant by the name of LaGratzia," She explained, keeping her voice low although she assumed Professor Crosby wouldn't mind or really care at this point that Jenna was making the new student feel at home.
"I live in an apartment by myself about fifteen minutes from the city, so I kind of have to work two jobs in order to pay for everything," Jenna kind of giggled, although it was the truth. She left out the fact that she also had to pay for everything that her scholarship wouldn't provide for her. Very few people knew that Jenna came from a poverty-stricken household, and she'd like to keep it that way. Unfortunately, mostly for vain reasons. Jenna had created an image in the year she'd been attending Belmont, the fact that her family was essentially dirt poor certainly wouldn't be acceptable to her reputation. Even when her father passed he hadn't left that much money behind, and the money he did leave went to support the younger kids' and anything else that was a need for the family. And here Jenna Rianne Taylor was, going to school completely surrounded by teenagers that would never know what it would be like to go to bed on an empty stomach- unless of course, they had some type of glamorous eating disorder which of course, wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
Jenna turned her head around to glance at the board, making sure that Professor Crosby wasn't giving her the death glare. Yes, Jenna was one of those girls that was afraid to get into trouble. So what? Not only could she lose her scholarship, but it made Jenna feel horrible in general. Of course in the way back of her mind though she kind of wanted to just throw everything away and live rebelliously and not have to care about anything or anyone and just be dirty. But Jenna kept that desire in the back of her mind, it'd be pointless for it to surface. "Your turn," Jenna spoke as she turned around in her seat to face Caleb again, "Tell me about yourself."

Caleb had the ability to tell if a girl was….let’s say DTF (Down to fuck) within seconds of talking to her. He didn’t get that vibe from Jenna off the bat but he was definitely willing to make her change her mind. He was very convincing and very believable at times to a point where he even surprised himself. It was almost as if he never had to think about what to say next, it just naturally came out and it entertained whoever he was talking to, whether it was a girl or a group of people. Caleb definitely aimed to please.
Caleb could have looked shocked, surprised, or even baffled at Jenna’s confession, but what good would that do? No, I have to take a different approach and make it seem as if it means nothing he thought to himself after she confessed, so he completely dodged the topic and seemed to be interested in her other activities. “And you handle all that with a smile, very impressive” he said revealing a small smile as well. In the short amount of time that they were talking, Caleb definitely noticed Jenna’s positive and bubbly personality. She works at Starbucks? He thought wanting to smirk.
“Well, back home, Starbucks used to be my favorite hangout spot in the afternoons, I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other out of school too” he said with a small smirk looking up at her. It was definitely something he didn’t mind either. Caleb was honestly pretty impressed that Jenna was an independent girl working hard to pay her own bills and what not, it was something he could definitely respect. “wow, most girls have a hard time picking out their outfit for the day and your living and breathing on your own…..just like me” he said surprisingly realizing that they had the same kind of life.
Caleb noticed Jenna’s continuous turns to the front and he knew why, Jenna obviously didn’t want to get in trouble and well he didn’t want her to get in trouble on his watch. So he tried speaking a little lower so the professor wouldn’t hear. When she looked back and said it was his turn; he met eyes with her wondering if he should tell her the real truth about him, or white lies. “Well, I grew up in California most of my life, never really got along with my family…” Or families, but she doesn’t need to know that he thought.
“…I decided to get emancipated when I was 17 and I lived alone since then, I’m not good with real jobs so I usually just do underground fighting to win some money every week, and I love music, it’s probably the only thing that keeps me from…..” hurting people “…making bad decisions” he said with a small laugh. Caleb did have a rough past, but he doubted he would ever fully come clean about it….

i heard that you were trouble but i couldn't resist
Jenna was truly amazed at how similar her life was to Caleb's. She giggled quietly at him mentioning Starbucks and how they would become close from his frequent visits. "Good, I'm usually always there," She assured him before listening to the rest of Caleb's history- or the half that he would tell her, at least. She liked people that were open, but at the same time gave enough to the imagination. Caleb seemed to fit that description nicely, and his compliments were awfully flattering. Jenna decided that she was going to get along quiet well with this Caleb guy.
She listened to Caleb speak about being emancipated and underground fighting and such. It was so weird how the two were so alike, although it would certainly not appear that way. Jenna was emancipated when she was barely sixteen, but it was solely for school purposes. Part of her wondered if leaving home at such a young age would have a lasting affect on her in the long run. So far, it only taught her to be more responsible quicker, which definitely wasn't a bad trait to carry.
Jenna grinned at Caleb's statement about music keeping him from making bad decisions, common trade off. She knew that Caleb had that bad boy vibe going on, which definitely was a hidden turn-on for Jenna, with underground fighting and 'making bad decisions' and not getting along with his parents, but music was much more.. softer a topic. Jenna imagined Caleb calmly playing a guitar or piano or something, which was as much a turn-on as being a bad boy. Caleb seemed to be making quite the first impression. "So do you play anything?" Jenna asked, her voice soft yet full of curiosity. Her eyes were growing wide as she couldn't hide her interest in Caleb. He was a bad boy, but soft around the edges, he lived by himself, he traveled often... who was this guy and why had Jenna failed to meet him before now? Of course there was always Rigg and Jenna couldn't let her sudden interest get the best of her, but then again doing that was something that Jenna often did. She let out a small laugh, trying her best to keep quiet in the classroom. Luckily, Professor Crosby wasn't really the one the pay attention to the class while she was busy writing on the board in front of them.
