Natalie Windsor still wasn’t used to being the new girl at Belmont, even though she had been there for a month already. She had more or less adjusted to the new routine and had even found a few friends that she fit in well enough with to not feel like a complete loner, so it wasn’t like she was completely miserable. It was more that she just really missed her friends back at her old school, despite the fact that she was excited to be at Belmont now. Her biggest fear when she transferred was running into Park, but she had only seen him a few times since being there and had made sure that he didn’t notice her. The way things had ended with them had not been on the best of terms, so she was trying to avoid him for as long as she could throughout the year. Then, come the end of the year he’d be graduating and going off to whatever college he chose and she wouldn’t have to see him at all anymore. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to see or speak to him, it was more that she just wanted to avoid any confrontation or awkward and tense situations. Those were the worst, and Natalie always did her best to keep away from them. Plus, keeping up with her work load and dance classes, performances and practises put enough stress in the seventeen year old’s life, and she didn’t need any more.
The brunette was currently sitting in Biology class, listening to her teacher go on about the experiment they would be doing next week. It was fearfully boring, but Natalie was enduring it because she needed an extra science credit that year and wanted to get it over with. Most of her credits from her old school had transferred over, but there were a few differences between requirements throughout the years at Belmont needed to graduate after senior year, which was a bit inconvenient. But, Natalie had learned that life wasn’t always fair and convenient, so she was going to deal with it as best as she could. The class wasn’t bad most of the time, but because she had already read up on the assignment, hearing the teacher explain it in detail felt useless. Of course, it was for their own benefit to hear it explained in detail so they would have the necessary materials and know exactly what to do to get a good grade, so Natalie was doing her best to look past the boring aspect and pay close attention. Luckily, a new friend of hers was in the class too and currently sitting next to her, so she was helping the time be more bearable.
After what seemed like forever, the bell for lunch finally rang and Natalie hurriedly packed up her books and practically ran out of the room. The hallways were crowded with juniors and seniors on their way to their lunch period, and Natalie joined the swarm of people making their way to their lockers. Unfortunately for her, her own was on the first floor of the school and the class she’d just left was on the second, so she had a bit of walking to do. She didn’t mind, however, because it gave her a bit of exercise and helped her get to know the school’s layout a bit better. Being there a month meant that she knew the layout more or less, but there were still times when she forgot where her classrooms were, so it was a good chance to teach herself. As she rounded the corner for the elevator, she saw that quite a few people were waiting and decided to use the stairs. Once she got to them, she descended them carefully and smiled at a few familiar faces as they passed. When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she made her way down the hall turning down a fork to get to the hallway her locker was located in. Once she got there, she shifted her books in her arms, then twirled the combination to her lock before opening it and depositing her books.

she wears a heart that could melt my own, she wears a smile that could make me want to sing
"She's seriously so hot, but not in a way that you're like 'Oh my god I can totally get that girl in bed right this second' but instead it's like, I don't know, Catholic school girl hot. Like, she's hot but she looks like she'd be a prude, but deep down she's probably a freak... you know?" Park leaned against a wall in the hallway, listening to Daft Hayes ramble of course about some new girl that was in his Physics class. Did Park truly care about any word that came out of Daft's mouth? No, of course not. Did he pretend like he did to keep up his heart-breaker, womanizer image? Sure he did. Today though, Park wasn't exactly feeling up for interrogating Daft about his new found possible Virgin Mary. As Daft continued to talk, Park's eyes searched the hall idly. Same old people, different day. He somewhat wished that Luke or one of his other buddies would come along and take Daft off of his hands. This was the one thing that went along with Park's title as 'number one player at Belmont Prep' that Park inwardly despised... random guys or his 'party friends' feeling the need to enlighten him about every female that walked the halls of Belmont Prep. Couldn't Park just leave that be and make his assumptions on his own? "It sucks though, I wish I could remember her name," Daft continued although he was aware that Park didn't want to converse with him any longer. "Something like Nally or Natalia or..." Daft was cut off by Park spotting an undeniable face in the crowd of students. Could that really be..? He blinked hard and focused his eyes as hard as he possibly could at the delicate brunette. She was flawless, just like he'd remembered her- gorgeous to say the least. At that point, nothing that Daft was saying was of any importance to him at all. "Natalie." Park said aloud, quietly to himself. "Yes! Natalie. That was it. So you've seen her around too? How hot would you say, on a scale of one to ten- one being the worst ten being the best. I'd say somewhere around a high nine, just because there's a possibility that she's a complete prude and..." Daft continued on about whatever he was saying, but all that was running through Park's mind was Natalie Rose Windsor. What was she doing at Belmont? How long had she been here? Was she trying to find him? Did she even want anything to do with him anymore? What would she say when she found out that Park was now the biggest womanizer at Belmont, that had slept with the majority of the female population already?
And then, for what was usually out of the ordinary for Park, he began to get nervous- over a girl. But this absolutely was not just some girl, this was Natalie Windsor- the only girl that he'd even gotten a glimpse of love with. Natalie Windsor, the girl that now heart-breaking Park Evans first had sex with. Everything with Natalie then was so elegant and perfect, yet at the same time so young and goofy. Park had no idea what he was doing and neither did Natalie, but he wouldn't have had it any other way. Natalie Windsor was now at Belmont Prep.
"Excuse me, Daft," Park told the boy semi-apologetically as he was in mid-sentence. Daft just simply watched slick senior as if he knew he was going to do something cool. Little did Daft know he was basically chasing over some girl, though. Park watched Natalie carefully switching out her books at her locker as he walked up to approach her. Park ran a hand through his semi-long hair then shook it so it would fall into perfect place. "Natalie?" Park spoke again, only this time his voice was different. Different than it's ever really been around other girls. This time his voice was genuinely charming, not the stupid act he often put on, with a hint of confusion. Awkward wasn't really in Park's vocabulary, so he didn't really see how Natalie would be anything more than excited to see him standing next to her.

Natalie was actually looking forward to her next class, but not so much that she wasn’t glad that it was finally lunch time. She supposed her excitement came from the fact that she was no longer in Biology class, listening to her teacher drone on and on for what seemed like forever. She had a few more classes to get through before she could go home and relax, but she was convinced that none of her other classes were going to be as hard to get through as that one had been. Most of the time, she didn’t mind Biology, but today she just couldn’t get into it for some reason. She blamed the fact that she hadn’t slept very well the night before, so it had been hard for her to get out of bed that morning and go to school. She really had no idea why she had such trouble sleeping, but she guessed it had something to do with her fear of running into Park – but then again, that was always a common haunting thought for the seventeen year old; that stupid boy with his good looks and charm who had been her first love and was now her ex boyfriend.
In Natalie’s opinion, she should have gone to a different school. There were plenty of elite schools she could have gone too and she could have argued with her parents to send her somewhere else, but she had been stupid and decided to go to the school that he went too. Admittedly, it was a great school and she liked being there but there was still that uneasy feeling in the back of her mind that told her Park would see her there and think that she had gone there to try and get him back. That wasn’t true, of course, but that didn’t mean that he wouldn’t think it was true. It was a difficult situation to be in, especially since things between them hadn’t ended on a particularly good note, but she hoped that if they ended up running into each other, they’d be able to look past that and maybe be friends again. If not then it was no big deal; she had lived without him as part of her life for a few years and she could continue to do it with no problem. But, for now she pushed those thoughts of her head and focused on the remainder of the day she had ahead of her after lunch was over.
After depositing her books in her locker and pulling out her purse to go and buy lunch from the school’s cafeteria, the seventeen year old brunette closed her locker and leaned against it to wait for her friends. They had already made plans to meet there and then head to the cafeteria, but she had a shorter route than most of them did and they still had to go to their own lockers to get their lunches and money before meeting up at Natalie’s to go and find a table. The cafeteria was a pretty big place so Natalie wasn’t worried about being able to find a table since there were only a few of them in the group she was waiting for, and while she waited she thought about what she wanted to get to save some time when she finally got in line. That day was pasta day, and she figured she’d probably get that just because the school pasta was actually pretty good, but she wasn’t going to get too big of a plate because of the carbs. That sounded like a good plan to her. Her thoughts were interrupted by footsteps coming down the hallway towards her, and she pushed off her locker to greet who she thought was one of her friends. Who she saw instead was the one person that she hadn’t seen until now, and the one person who was on her mind just a few minutes earlier. ”Crap,” she thought to herself as she studied the good looking boy standing in front of her. “Uh, hey,” she said, giving him a small smile and pushing her hair back behind her ear. His voice was charming the way she remembered it always being, and this caused her to internally wonder whether this was how he talked to all girls these days or if he was genuinely happy to see her. Either way, she was sure she would find out.

she wears a heart that could melt my own, she wears a smile that could make me want to sing
It was funny. Natalie was exactly how Park remembered her to be only much more... timid? She lacked her young, free-spirited glint in her eyes that Park had fell in love with to begin with, but Park refused to believe it was permanently gone. No, it couldn't be. Natalie was exactly the same girl he had left her... or so he hoped. Selfishly of course, because Park had definitely changed, and not necessarily for the better. In the back of his mind he wondered if Natalie had heard anything about him since she'd arrived at Belmont- however long ago that was, since Park had no idea. Typically Park could care less about what the Belmont student body had to say about him- obviously- but when it came to Natalie, Park was different. That could pretty much sum everything up in a sentence; "When it came to Natalie, Park was different."
He studied to look on the junior's face as she greeted him, trying his best to hold eye contact with her for longer than a few seconds. Natalie just wasn't really cooperating with him and Park wasn't used to that. He was completely beside himself at this point anyway; Here he was, standing there in the hallway of Belmont, talking to the girl that he fell so deeply in love with at such a young age and she didn't even seem the slightest bit excited to see him? It confused Park. He was so used to getting the attention and the one time that he wanted the attention the most, from the one person that he wanted the attention from the most, he wasn't getting it. This was beginning to frustrate Park.
Natalie might have not appeared to be enthused to see Park standing before her but Park couldn't contain his. Of course he was going to be excited, and in his mind- nothing had changed between the two. Even though Park had changed and maybe Natalie might have even changed slightly nothing had changed between them... right?
"How are you? What are you doing at Belmont?" Park asked, his voice smooth and calming and curious as he propped himself against the row of lockers next to him. Park so badly wanted to reach out and hug the girl but he of course refrained for the sake of his reputation. He was confused as to why Natalie never shot him an email or set up an after-class coffee date to tell Park that she would be coming to Belmont. This was a big deal, and as much as it kinda made Park excited, deep down it was definitely something that worried him. Natalie was the only girl that could essentially make Park beg on his knees to and now she was at Belmont. He knew already that this was going to take a toll on his reputation and inwardly he wasn't quite ready for it.

Park hadn’t changed much in Natalie’s eyes, or at least not on the outside. He was still the attractive, semi-muscular guy that he had been back when they were dating, but his personality and the way he carried himself seemed to have changed. Natalie had to admit that she was bothered by this, but she had been expecting it since that was part of the reason that they had broken up. It was true that they had both changed, but Park’s change wasn’t exactly for the better the way that Natalie thought her own was. She had heard a lot of rumours about him since transferring to Belmont, and not all of them were pleasant. In fact, she wouldn’t have believed some of them if she hadn’t witnessed the new Park Russo with her own eyes. Natalie really hated gossip, but she couldn’t ignore the rumours she was hearing about him because she knew that while the old Park would never have done the things the rumours said he did, the new one probably would. It really sucked to know how much he’d truly changed, but that really wasn’t Natalie’s problem anymore so she tried not to get involved. That was why she had more or less avoided banging into him in the hallways, until now of course.
She could see him trying to keep eye contact with her for longer than a few seconds, and couldn’t tell whether or not he was struggling with that or not. She did her best to help him and make it easy by keeping contact with him, but it was difficult for her too. They hadn’t seen each other since their bad break up and now, suddenly she was going to his school and they would be seeing each other more often. She was excited to see him, but at the same time it felt weird and awkward to be talking to him again so she didn’t appear very excited, which was probably going to bother him knowing him. One thing about Park was that he liked being the center of attention and he was used to her treating him that way. Now, however, they had passed that stage and she wasn’t about to go and pretend that everything was fine and nothing had happened between them. The old Natalie might have, but the new one wouldn’t. That was the beauty of changing and maturing, and the seventeen year old figured that Park wouldn’t be alright with that. But, if he was allowed to change so much, so was she and that was the argument she would use if he questioned it.
Park, however, seemed extremely excited to see her and she had to admit that it surprised her a bit. “I’m good, thanks. How are you doing?” she responded, not really knowing what to expect. “I transferred here. My parents finally decided to let me go to a normal high school,” she said, hoping he didn’t find it odd that she was now attending his school. She couldn’t help but notice parts of the old Park – the one she had fallen in love with – showing through as he talked to her, and Natalie couldn’t help but smile to herself. Maybe he had changed but right now, even for a minute, the better side of him was surfacing. Natalie hoped it was because she was bringing it out of him, but she didn’t think that was the case. Or maybe it was. Either way, it was nice to see that he hadn’t completely lost himself. “It was kind of a quick decision,” she added, feeling the need to explain why she hadn’t given him a head’s up or anything. Natalie had thought about how things would be when they reunited, and though it was a little awkward it was going reasonably well.

Park listened to the words that escaped from Natalie's lips, focusing his gaze on something a little passed her head instead of her eyes. Of course she hadn't transferred to Belmont because of him, Park knew that much... but why Belmont? Aside from the fact that it was a pretty prestigious school academic-wise, socially Belmont didn't really seem like a place that the Windsors would really want their precious daughter to be at. Then again, it was pretty obvious that a lot has changed over the years that they lost contact.
He reached a hand up to rub the back of his neck idly before dropping it and focusing back in on Natalie. He'd be lying if he said he didn't miss her and in his mind he believed that he would drop everything, this dumb lifestyle, for another chance with her- but that was when reality set it. Not only would Natalie never give him another chance, but Park was less likely to ever give up his heart-breaking casanova reputation at Belmont, as much as he only grew to realize how stupid it was as he got older.
Park couldn't help but wonder if Natalie had heard the things about him that went around. Depending on how long she was there, she could have heard nearly anything. Granted, most of the rumors that went around the school about Park were pretty true for the most part, but some of them were just obviously completely bogus. Park would admit, sometimes he was wild but some of the things that were said about him were a little too crazy for even him- but gossip would be gossip no matter what.
"That's cool," Park responded, his voice calming down a little bit and getting over the shock that Natalie Windsor was standing in front of him at his school. "Doing well, just football, soccer, the usual," He shrugged with a small chuckle. It was so odd that he was standing there with Natalie and basically just having small talk. If someone told him years ago that this was how they would end up, Park would be completely dumbfounded. Of course, when Park was a sophomore and younger he believed that they would last forever, and others seemed to believe the same; Funny how things change.
