» DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Smith has no tattoos, but he does have scars and freckles. Though Smith isn't completely doused in freckles, he does dawn the ones he has nicely, on his cheeks, chin, arms, and even a couple on his hand.
» STYLE: Smith generally dresses comfortably, but also tries to be put-together and clean. His goal is go to Harvard one day, so he likes to look the part, but doesn't mind pulling out the jeans and tees every now and then.
» OVERALL: The first thing people might notice about Smith is his height. Just two years ago, he was still pretty average and not too distinct, but he grew quite a bit in junior high, especially this past summer. All the way to a whopping 5'7'', and still growing! Next, though, you may notice his bright smile and he shows off constantly. Of course, it's not like he means to show it off or anything, he just smiles all the time, so he makes it a point to keep his pearly whites, well, pearly white. Smith has beautiful eyes that, when born, were a beautiful ocean-blue, but, they soon turned to a luscious green, with tints of blue the shine on the edge, or the sparks in the middle. Some say Smith is a typical kid with his blonde hair. Whether cut short and sweet, or textured and whipped to the side, he takes care to get his hair right every day. Yes, even the boys take care of their locks.
*shine through the darkness,

» WEAKNESSES: singing, girls, his brother, football, poetry (he likes it, but lacks the talent), meeting new people (except admissions officers and counselors of course), horseback riding
» SECRETS: He can't really talk to girls, he's really awesome on a bike and skateboard, but no one knows since he doesn't pursue it, he's been drunk before (total accident... sort of)
» GOALS: get into Harvard, be better with girls, get his driver's license
» OVERALL PERSONALITY: Smith is often a typical nerd. He's great with the academics, he's horrible with girls, his current top goal is to get into Harvard. But, then, he's also a typical fifteen-year-old. He can't wait to get his license (yes, he has his permit), he really likes the girls, and he often enjoys a number of sports and video games. But, not everyone sees every side of him. Plenty of the jocks at school know him as the kid who does "ok" at swim practice, soccer, and lacrosse. The nerds look up to him because he's got better social skills (yes, he has normal friends). The pretty girls don't really know he exists (except when they want a partner in lab who will do all the work). You get the drill, right?
But, Smith is also very shy around people his own age (or even a little older). His best friends are people he's known for a while, or his brother. He's never had a girlfriend, a "real" kiss, or even a date. At least, not to his knowledge. He's the kid who's on the fast tract to Harvard with amazing Pre-SAT and ACT scores, and in all those honors classes. He doesn't always have time for "fun" but knows extra-curriculars look good on college applications, so he's locked out time to be involved in clubs and sports. He may not be captain, but he's got a really great-looking application for Harvard to look at. And that's the most important thing, right?
*dive into your past,
» PARENTS: Their father is William Bradford Hardy, a great lawyer and businessman. His mother is Louisa Annabel Hardy, a professor at the local university.

» PETS: He has his own two dogs, Wilmur and Betsy, both miniature dachshunds.
» SIGNIFICANT OTHER: n/a
» OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE: n/a
» HISTORY: Smith Wallace Hardy was born, along with his twin brother, to very happy couple on August 1st, fifteen years ago. Born into a generally weatlhy family, Smith was given everything, and had to want for nothing. If he wanted a new toy, it was given to him. If he wanted to be a read a story, it was done. The boys were spoiled as children. They would go on vacations every year, without a second thought, and the most expensive toys, clothes, and presents were bought for the twins. The parents either thought the world of them, or thought that the world thought the world of them. They could do no wrong.
Growing up, Smith always enjoyed the more intelligent, more brain-exercising joys in life. He loved to watch movies and shows like "Little Einstein" or have his parents or governesses read to him from books. He was starting to read by the age of three, and could carry on a full intelligent conversation by the age of five. At four, his favorite book was Goodnight, Moon, and how he loved to sit and read it aloud to his parents, brother, and whoever would listen. His favorite tv show wasn't Dora or Blues Clues; instead, he enjoyed shows like Arthur and Cyberchase. His musical choice wasn't High Five or the Wiggles. No, he enjoyed listening to Celtic music, Bach and Mozart, and the occassional folk or classic country.
As he grew, Smith and his brother became very different. Though they enjoyed to play together and had fun, Smith asked for things such as books when his brother asked for toys. They both enjoyed sports and games, but Smith couldn't seem to understand why his brother didn't want to learn like he did. Instead of reciting poems, his brother liked jokes. Sometimes, Smith envied his brother's smooth way of life. He could relax and enjoy things that Smith couldn't quite understand. He always kept everyone in good spirits, while Smith was seen as sometime to actually have a conversation with about news or politics.
Though some might worry that Smith didn't have a childhood, trust me, he did. His brother had enough sense to rub off on Smith any chance he could. Smith enjoyed many video games and would often take time off his studies to goof off with his brother. Though the two were very different, his twin was the main person who could get Smith to relax and just have fun and not worry so much. Smith played sports such as soccer and basketball and read not only from the newspapers and biographies, but also sports magazines and fiction chapter books that gave him a relaxing time to just enjoy the simplicity of life.
Now, at the age of fifteen, Smith has balanced out his studies and his fun. While his life goal is to get into Harvard, he still makes time to play video games with his brother or play sports with his friends and at the school. However, the one thing Smith hasn't accomplished is girls. The one success story of Smith and a girl was when smith was eight. He had gone to a summer camp with his brother, and met Daisy. He and Daisy hit it off, and kept in touch after camp, but, as many things do, it faded over time and distance. But, other than that and the occassional girl smartie, when Smith tries to talk to a girl, he can never seem to get his words straight, and is always babbling all over the place. He's made a promise to himself that he's going to get better before college, so high school's a test run, but we'll just have to see how that plays out...

Lacey had woken up that morning with renewed confidence. Sure, she'd made a fool of herself in front of the most gorgeous guy she'd ever seen, but she could redeem herself. And, chances were, she'd never see the guy again, so it was okay. She’d never been afraid of goofing off in random places with her friends. I mean, at least not when she isn’t going to see those people again. So, Lacey thought, this shouldn’t be a problem. As Lacey stepped out of bed, the tall, dark, and handsome boy fled from her thoughts.
Lacey pulled on her favorite new size six jeans her aunt had bought her from Nordstrom. Her parents might not have been able to afford anything more than Target, but Aunt Denny didn’t have any kids and didn’t mind dolling out the money on her one and only niece; especially by inviting her to move from a small town in Littlesville, North Carolina to live in a suburb of New York (just half an hour drive to New York City) with her to celebrate her weight loss. In the past couple of years, Lacey went down from a size 18 to a size 6, and she’s become much more confident and outgoing than ever before.
As the freshman hopped down the stairs to the kitchen in her ensemble of color, she was excited for her first day of school. Although back home, she would’ve been dreading eight hours of rule-learning and getting a calendar with everyday’s lunch menu on it; here, she was excited to be going to a new school. Sure, she was missing her best friends back home, and sure, she was probably going to spend half the day lost in a sea of students, and probably wouldn’t find her locker until Thursday or Friday, but she didn’t care; she was too excited to be worried about that sort of thing.
Since Lacey was just a freshman, she couldn’t drive, so her aunt’s driver had agreed to take her to school in her aunt’s black luxury town car for the first day of her new life at the prestigious private school. But, as the tires came to a halt in front of the school, Lacey looked up to what seemed to be a looming pair of front doors staring directly into her soul, ready to pounce. Lacey thanked Duncan, the driver, as he opened the door and helped her out of the car. Lacey walked up the front steps, headed toward her now doom. She tried to go back to what she had been feeling that morning at breakfast, but instead, felt like every person she passed was judging her, telling her she didn’t belong.
As predicted, Lacey took forever trying to find her locker, and when she finally got to first period homeroom, she was ten minutes late, and felt like a complete idiot. She blushed a scarlet red as she was forced to walk down the rows of seats to the very back seat, farthest from the door, as it was the only seat left. But, she kept her head down as she walked, being sure not to look at anyone directly. Once announcements were over, and the first day of school chatter began to rise, Lacey dared a quick glance up at her fellow classmates, only to find the very single person she wished to see least… the guy from the mall she had been sure she would never see again.
