I wanna be the one who never lets you downbut right now i feel like i am loosing control, loosing control• • • • • • Ah the joys of a Saturday... One of the rules in Olivia's household was that she had to pay for her own gas, and that was all fine and dandy during the week because she didn't go too far, just to school, practice, work, and back home. Maybe to Brooke's house or something but really that was it. On the weekends she usually came down into the city via subway trains to one of her favorite places that she actually didn't shop at: a tacky little bead shop that had everything you'd ever dream of needing for making jewelry. From friendship bracelets to the pieces that literally looked like a million bucks, every bead, gem, or rhinestone was on these shelves somewhere. Liv came here so often, she and the store manager, Angie - a woman in her mid thirties with twin boys just starting 2nd grade, were friends of sorts.
Angie knew everything going on in Olivia's life, from parked to school and college applications, etc. She'd taken Liv on as an intern, and partnered with a man who owned a boutique nearby. Olivia was allowed to sit and work on her own pieces as long as she helped Angie create a few sets and their replicas and get them to the boutique every other week. Then she was given a tiny shelf of her own designs in the same store and earned 40% of whatever they went for (usually 20-30 dollars). This helped her get her name out there for her future. Angie said it was all going to benefit her later down the road to get an inside look at the industry. It had also been her suggestion to name the collection with her screen name, Liv_life, because it appealed to the younger generation.
"Well, this is going to be productive...", Olivia thought as she walked into the shop and eyed the box of bright sparkling gems on the table in the back, her usual seat. She looked around but Angie was nowhere to be seen, but there was a note on the desk. hey livvy! Start up on the glam and glitz, homecoming trends come out soon! I just went to grab coffee so I should be back soon...keep the front locked up till I get back. --Angie Olivia left the note there and got out her phone. Brooke was supposed to meet here there at some point so they could go dress shopping. You could not live in New York and have too many clothes...it was simply impossible. Besides, Liv had exhausted last years styles through September and it was time for some new ideas. For the time being, she pumped old Mayday Parade from her iPhone as she began sketching designs and stringing bracelets until someone came to keep her occupied otherwise.

stop there and let me correct it , i wanna live a life from a new perspective • • • • • • • • • • • • Brooke Davis was feeling restless, which was really not helping her achieve the goal she had set for herself that afternoon. That goal was to finish all of her homework for the weekend so that she could enjoy the rest of it without having to worry about school, but it wasn’t exactly coming out successfully. She supposed it was because it was Saturday and she usually liked to spend the weekends relaxing and catching up with friends since she worried about school every other day of the week. She was a good student so finishing homework really wasn’t an issue, it was just a matter of being able to focus, which she clearly wasn’t able to do at the moment. So, she decided to go downstairs and see if her housekeeper, Maria, was finished with brunch yet. It was a tad early, and if she wasn’t then Brooke would just go out and grab something from one of the many cafes around town. When she got downstairs, however, she saw that Maria was almost done so the eighteen year old decided to patiently wait. Plus, if she stayed then her parents couldn’t give hr a hard time about never being home and she could freely do what she wanted with her afternoon once brunch was over without complaint. She did plan to get out of the house eventually to meet up with Olivia since her mother was having another meeting for the charity ball and Brooke really didn’t feel like contributing today. Most days she would have, but today she didn’t feel like spending the whole afternoon sitting in her living room with a bunch of adults discussing centerpieces and table cloths.
After finishing up her food, Brooke looked at the time and figured it wasn’t too early to be able to go and meet up with Olivia. She would be at the bead shop where she interned, and though Brooke wasn’t sure if Olivia could let her in right away, she figured there was no harm in trying. It was nice to have a friend working there because it gave both girls the opportunity to look at beads and jewellery for their parties and other social events that required getting dressed up, and that was the plan for the day. Everyone knew about the charity event coming in a few weeks since the invites had been sent out, and Brooke wanted to get a head start on finding her dress so that she could have her pick of things rather than try to find something suitable at the last minute. Of course, no matter how much she procrastinated in finding dresses, she always managed to find something amazing because of her fit, well-toned body and how she could wear just about anything and look stunning. That wasn’t her being cocky by any means; it was what she had been told her entire life and she liked compliments like that – especially when it came to her clothes. Speaking of clothes, Brooke figured she should probably change out of her sweat pants and into something a little more fashionable. She refused to ever leave the house unless she looked like the height of perfection because she never knew who she’d run into, so she quickly thanked Maria before running upstairs to change.
After half an hour, Brooke finally emerged from her bedroom fully dressed with her hair and make up done and her new Coach purse on her shoulder. Maria nodded her approval as she began to clear off the table and waved Brooke away when she tried to lend a hand. Smiling and rolling her eyes, she waved a quick goodbye to the older woman then headed out the door and rode the elevator down to the parking lot. She normally didn’t drive because her father had a chauffer that drove her around, or the place she was going was close enough to walk too, but because she had just gotten a new car, the eighteen year old decided that she wanted to drive herself. After all, what was the point of having a license if it was never used? Digging her keys out of her bag, Brooke hit the button to unlock the doors of her new Audi TT Coupe, which her father had paid extra for to paint pink – her favourite color. This was also a way to keep her brother from borrowing her car and then not bringing it back when she needed it most, and she had kissed her father happily when he’d brought her downstairs to show her. As she climbed in, she texted Olivia to let her know that she was on her way, then started the car, backed out and sped along towards the jewellery store. When she got there, she parked the car then locked the doors and headed towards the front of the store, knocking on the back door like she had done a hundred times when meeting Olivia there.

I wanna be the one who never lets you downbut right now i feel like i am loosing control, loosing control• • • • • • Olivia might live a high end social class life, but she loved her cheap things. Jewelry, everyday clothing, casual shoes, etc. But one thing she absolutely was splurging a little bit on fancy clothes for special occasions like Homecoming, the annual Charity Ball, and of course, Prom. Brooke's mom was in charge of the ball and Liv had heard some hushed arguments coming from the dining room where the meetings were held. She just pretended she had no idea what was going on and kept talking to Brooke like it was no big deal. The adults could handle this; they did it every year, and even Liv's mom had been sucked into this crazy frenzy this year, which was a first, considering her mom liked to sit back and just watch things unfold- not actually be a part of them.
Never the less, she needed a dress. (rhyming!!!) Olivia wasn't one of those girls who could wear the same dress twice to similar events. It was one thing to wear a dress to homecoming and then wear it again to a family wedding, but wearing the same dress twice to the Charity Ball was the "it girl" equivalent of murder - not a good idea at all. Liv still had a really cute black sequined dress that came just above her knees that she could wear but it was a little too casual for the event. She'd probably end up wearing it to a party in the spring when it wasn't on the verge of plunging into the negative degrees. Now she was not only going to need a dress or two but probably some leggings in a variety of colors as well. Taking a mental inventory, Olivia counted two pairs of black, one navy, and one gray; the essentials. But soon enough the bright colors would be hitting the shelves for funky dresses or long sweaters.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Olivia set down her project and walked to be back door, thinking it was Angie with the coffee but instead it was Brooke. In all honesty, Brooke was a much lovelier surprise than any cup of coffee could ever be (except at 7 am before a test -- then the coffee wins). "Hey Brooke! I was just about to text you." Olivia said, as she let her friend through the back door and began to put her stuff together. She threw her beads and bobbles into their appropriate bags, cases, and boxes and put them back in a tiny shelf where nobody really ever looked for items for projects. Angie loved to call it Olivia's "secret garden" where all of her projects began and ended. After cleaning up, she wrote a quick little note for Angie letting her know she'd be back on Monday for work and was going shopping. "Okay, now I'm ready. What do you have in mind first?", she asked as she opened the back door one last time to let Brooke out and lock it up. After all, nobody liked intruders in their own store, so she took the key with her instead of leaving it under the mat on the step.

stop there and let me correct it , i wanna live a life from a new perspective • • • • • • • • • • • • Brooke was used to the high end life because that was the life she had been living from the day she was born. She loved everything about growing up in Manhattan’s upper east side; the fancy parties, the designer clothes, the expensive cars and not needing to every worry about money. It was the perfect life for her, but she did still like some simple things too. Her parents were always surprised when she shopped and ended up with simple things that weren’t always designer – though it usually was most of the time- but she always paired her more simple accessories and clothing with her designer stuff so it all just ended up looking equally expensive. She was gifted with mixing and matching that way, like most girls in the upper east side were. They were like the trendsetters of New York and the people that everyone in their generation looked to for fashion advice about what was in and what was out. Events like the Charity Ball were always swarming with photographers and reporters who were trying to get good pictures for magazines and newspapers, and it was always an extremely amusing experience. Brooke’s mother was in charge of the Ball that year, so she was looking forward to spending the day shopping with Olivia for dresses, shoes, and jewellery.
She had to admit that she was bothered by the fact that her mother only asked her opinion on a few things without actually divulging any major details about the event, because finding a dress to suit it was going to be hard without those details. However, her mother had told her that length and color really didn’t matter so that was at least somewhat helpful. Brooke was not the kind of person that wore dresses twice if she could help it, but there were some in her closet that she loved too much not to wear ever again. For the Charity Ball, however, she had decided a new one was a good idea – especially after Olivia had suggested that they go shopping for dresses together. They had both been so busy that it had been hard to spend time together outside of cheer practise so the eighteen year old had jumped at the opportunity to see her other best friend. She had met Emily for a lunch a few weeks ago, and for whatever reason Olivia hadn’t joined them so it was going to be nice to see the girl. Shopping was one thing they both loved to do, and they always managed to help each other find something amazing every time.
When Olivia let her into the store, Brooke smiled at her friend but was confused by the surprise on Olivia’s face. “Hey Livy! You seem surprised; didn’t you get the text about me being on my way?”
she asked, stepping through the door so she could wait for Olivia to clean up. It was nice to see her friend in such a relaxed environment, doing something that she loved besides partying. Admittedly, Olivia was an amusing drunk, but it was good to see her doing something besides that. The jewellery she made was always beautiful despite how simple they were. Leaning against the doorframe, Brooke held tightly to her keys and watched Olivia pack up. “What were you working on this time?” she asked while her friend put things away. Once she had, the girls stepped back outside and Olivia locked up the shop. “Well, I have my car so we can go just about anywhere. Anywhere you want to go in particular?” Brooke asked, clicking the button to unlock her car door. I wanna be the one who never lets you downbut right now i feel like i am loosing control, loosing control• • • • • • Some things were great about being the best friend of the daughter of the chair of the Charity Ball. Brooke's mom was a fantastic party planner: she always made sure they ran as smoothly as possible, that there was always enough to eat and drink, and that everyone mingled really well. In addition: the themes were phenomenal, from "In the King's Court" where everyone wore long and luxurious medieval style gowns or suits, to "Disco Fever" and everyone pulled out their best 70s and 80s Elvis jumpsuits or 8 inch go-go boots. The only problem with CB 2011 was that the theme had yet to be announced but Brooke and Liv wanted to get their dresses ahead of time so that they could have the good picks. And of course, every new dress needed some stunning jewelry to match it. That would totally be her department: forget spending hundreds on a new piece Olivia could easily replicate, if not perfect, for FREE! Seriously, all of the accessories could wait until they had their brand spankin' new dresses and (hopefully) shoes to match if neither of them already owned a matching pair. Olivia was always in and out of Brooke's closet and vice-versa. They shared a good amount of their inventory to keep their appearances fresh and updated.
For example, Brooke totally still had Olivia's metallic gold leggings that bunched up at the bottom. However, she had yet to return the red pumps she wore to the party last month...It all worked out eventually though. This weekend was all about them: just Liv. Just Brooke. With cheer practice after school, and work, and parties all the time they hardly saw each other anymore! Even though Brooke was occasionally at the parties with Liv, Liv was really never sober enough to have a legitimate conversation and remember what she was saying by the end of it. A party was just a time to drink and hook up, plain and simple. She sorely disliked those guys who came to get tipsy and rant about their girlfriends. She slept with a lot of guys, but never the ones who had 'significant others' because that was a huge mess to deal with. Hell, it was bad enough if they were technically 'friends with benefits' and Olivia ended up on the receiving end of some bitchy girl who was 'mad because she slept with her man'.
But enough of this party reverie. She and Brooke were going to hit the shops, catch up on life, and do everything they'd been meaning to do for weeks! "I don't think I did...my phone would've gone off." Liv shook her head and looked back at her phone which showed a number of emails and facebook notifications but no text messages. She shrugged her shoulders. God iPhones were soo temperamental sometimes; they chose when they did or did not want to receive messages or voicemails from her parents (that was the worst...) but no matter what they always got junk from facebook. "Angie wants me to start working on the homecoming blitz and bling. They sell out really fast at the boutique so we have to start early." she said, rolling her eyes a little bit. Don't get her wrong, she loved working on the homecoming pieces, but making the same design twenty or fifty times was tedious. Olivia gathered all of her remaining items and stuffed them into her little clutch that looked just like a rolled up newspaper. "I have no idea what kind of dress I'm looking for...I do know that I'm making two new sets of jewelry: one gold, one silver. So we can choose between those two once we find the dresses." She said, flashing Brooke a keen smile before sitting down in the passenger seat. This wasn't Brooke's part of town per say, but they could easily make their way back up to the stores they knew and loved or stay down here where Olivia knew where to find the best deals and not-so-cheap-quality dresses.

stop there and let me correct it , i wanna live a life from a new perspective • • • • • • • • • • • • There were certain advantages Brooke had to being the daughter of the social event committee’s chair. Her mother had never been one to disappoint with her events, so the eighteen year old was sure that the Charity Ball was going to be a big success; the only problem was that she really had no idea what she was going to wear. Usually when Brooke went shopping, she liked to have a rough idea of the kind of dress she should be looking for to fit into the event’s dress code, but all her mother had told her was that it didn’t matter either way what she bought. That was both helpful and frustrating at the same time, but she hoped that by having Olivia with her, the task wouldn’t be quite so difficult. After all, Brooke was extremely indecisive when it came to nice dresses, because mostly everything looked good on her in some way. That was the beauty of having the toned, slim body that she had but she would never openly say that to avoid sounding like a cocky, self-indulged person. She hated people who walked around and bragged about things like that, so she strived not to do that if she could help it – otherwise, she would have been considered a hypocrite.
Brooke and Olivia were two people that stores saved the best dresses for when news of a new social event spread through Manhattan. The girls were good customers and their parents had good connections, so it was fitting. That was one advantage Brooke liked to use, since she loved being treated like such a VIP. She spent enough money on dresses for social events, and she wasn’t afraid what people thought of her using this one advantage. Most of the time, she kept the advantages she had because of her family repressed so that she wouldn’t be given special treatment and make others feel bad, but shopping and getting into clubs were her two exceptions. Other than that, she pretty much did what she could to avoid bragging and making other people feel bad, though she guessed her expensive car and designer clothes weren’t much help in that department. Either way, she was going to find an amazing dress and rock that Charity Ball. Olivia would save them money on jewellery because she made nice stuff for both of them for most social events, but they needed to find their dresses first so they’d know what the jewellery needed to match.
As the girls headed out the door, Brooke frowned at Olivia apparently not getting her text. ”That’s odd,”
she said with a mildly confused expression. Normally their two phones were good at sending and receiving texts, and Brooke quickly fished her Blackberry out of her bag to check if the message had actually sent. According to the phone, it had. “Well, it sent apparently. Watch, you’ll get it while we’re driving. It would only be ten minutes late,” she teased. Maybe their phones were being temperamental today, which would be unusual but not unexpected. Sometimes, Manhattan’s cell signals failed miserably and other times they worked well. Today would be the first time that it failed for Brooke, but she didn’t care. It didn’t matter now anyway since they were already together. “Homecoming stuff, huh? That dance needs to come up faster. I don’t think we’ve ever had a big social event before we’ve had homecoming,” she commented, wrinkling her nose. Everything about that year was a bit off, but the changes were still nice so she didn’t complain too much. “I don’t know what I want either, but that’ll be half the fun! And your jewellery will be amazing no matter what,” she said cheerfully, starting the engine. “So, where to?” [/blockquote][/blockquote] you come along because i love your face , and i'll admire your expensive taste • • • • • • • • • • • • tagged Olivia [aka Sammi] <3 words 632 outfit Here notes N/A status Finished template nixxy of CAUTION 2.0

I wanna be the one who never lets you downbut right now i feel like i am loosing control, loosing control• • • • • • Olivia was a smart girl. She might not always come off like that but she did fairly well in school, maintained a solid A-B average which definitely gave her a leg up for colleges and it also kept her on the cheer squad. Of course, for the squad, you just had to make a C+ or above because it looked bad if you got too close to failing any class and just dedicated your life to cheer. Frankly, it was a great way to get closer to the *best* group of girls in the school, and it totally beat running around the block for a work out. Seriously, Liv had some killer muscles and endurance from cheer and their practices. Because of all the training and things she did to stay in shape, she was able to fit into a wider variety of dresses from wherever she pleased; H&M, Saks, Neimans, D&G, Prada, whatever she wanted, she could have, and there was no shame in wanting an expensive dress for an event like the Charity Ball where everyone would be watching.
There were so many fashion scenes in New York: most notably was the celebrity scene. Anyone who was anyone came to New York to shop, eat, party, and get noticed. Olivia wasn't quite a celebrity, but as far as the 'teen-young adult' scene of Manhattan went, she was one of the top girls that stores held certain items for because they knew it would be better worn on someone with a higher position like her, or Brooke, or a few others at Belmont. Now, don't get her wrong, Liv LOVED buying cheap clothing at Forever 21, or even Macy's for party dresses or jeans and stuff, but she did enjoy splurging for huge events like the Charity Ball. She needed something that would stand out from everyone else; something that would impress people beyond belief. Because, easily, she could take a simple dress and jazz it up with her jewelry, but this was different. Damn...if only she knew how to design her own clothes too- then she'd really have a future on Fifth Avenue for sure!
But within the more immediate future, she was applying to schools and needed to put 5th ave on hold. She and Brooke would make it to their respective places eventually, but right now if they didn't make a decision, they'd be aimlessly driving around Manhattan. Although that might be fun for lost tourists, it wasn't that entertaining for locals. "Yeah it'll send once I'm home and it doesn't matter anymore" she replied with a laugh. God if technology was advancing to such new heights, why wouldn't it work...ever? It was the flaw yet the greatest dependency of the future. "Homecoming is usually around the same time of year, but the Ball is early and I'm not sure why...but yeah, Angie's been talking to the guy at the boutique down the street where my stuff is and he said he's already had like 5 customers for party accessories. Which means I need to "get with it and go" as Angie said." Liv rolled her eyes- homecoming was still in like 3 weeks. Actually, three weeks wasn't too long...she probably did have to start working on those pieces then. Well, first things first, the Charity Ball. She could easily just camp out at the store and skip a party or two to prep and be totally okay. Maybe. "Well, why don't we park on 5th somewhere and walk around 'till we find something spectacular?" she asked. Liv had honestly nothing in mind and 5th seemed like the best option.

stop there and let me correct it , i wanna live a life from a new perspective • • • • • • • • • • • • The streets of New York were crowded and noisy, but Brooke had gotten so used to driving on them that it didn’t even faze her. Some people she knew were afraid to drive on their own because of how busy the streets always were, but Brooke had learned to be a cautious driver and was always on alert. She had yet to be in an accident, which helped her parents trust her; they had even got her a new car because they were so proud of her. It was easy to get stuck in traffic jams and experience road rage because of all the cars, but Brooke was always able to keep a cool head and wait patiently for it to clear – something that amazed most people who drove with her. She tried to never lose her temper over little things like that because it added stress and she had enough of that in her life. She was Captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and kept an A average grade-wise, which made her an honour student every year she’d been in school, much to her parent’s pleasure. Plus, she still had to find time to participate in her other extra curricular activities and attend charity events with her family. It sounded like a pretty amazing life, but sometimes trying to balance it all with also having a social life was hard. However, she managed somehow.
To be able to just kick back and shop with Olivia was a welcomed break from school work and coming up with new routines for the squad. They were both trendsetters and were very into fashion, which is what helped make them best friends. New York was the perfect place for girls like them who were fashion conscious and loved to get noticed. It was also the perfect place for partying and shopping. There were so many designer brands in New York, and Brooke was good at keeping up with the latest and hottest fashions. In fact, her whole closet was filled with designer clothes and brands thanks to her rich family, but she would never purposely shove her wealth in someone’s face. “Oh of course, that’s what always happens,”
she responded, laughing too. You would think paying all that extra money for an iPhone would guarantee service in such a big city, but apparently that wasn’t the case. “Wow. Apparently we’re not the only ones trying to get a jump start on outfits and accessories,” she responded as she turned a corner. Olivia’s jewellery was always so pretty, and Brooke was glad to be friends with her because it meant they had stuff that most people didn’t. Brooke liked to be unique like that, and loved Olivia for making her such awesome stuff to pair with her outfits. In fact, she was currently wearing a pair of earrings that Olivia had made and given to her for her eighteenth birthday. “Sounds good to me. Hopefully the stores won’t be too busy,” she response, nodded as Olivia suggested parking on Fifth Avenue and slowly making her way there. Thankfully, the side street she had turned down was less busy than the main street so there was no waiting in a traffic jam to get to the popular shopping district. Fifth Avenue was known for its designer brands and only the wealthiest people could afford to shop there as much as Brooke and Olivia did. Most kids at Belmont chose to shop there, too, but not all of them really knew how to mix and match to make the amazing outfits that the girls did. Once she found an empty parking space, Brooke quickly parallel parked, then turned off the car and retrieved the keys. Once she had grabbed her purse and stuffed the keys inside, she climbed out of the car and walked to the front of the car so she could stand on the sidewalk. “I heard that Chanel’s having a sale. Why don’t we start there and then just make our way down the strip?” It was a good starting point, anyway.
