i, i'm thinking it's a sign that thefreckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss, they're perfectly aligned• • • • • • Olivia would never be a supermom, that much was a fact. She was having a hard time as it was rolling the shopping cart from the grocery store to the parking lot with four of the remaining bags slung over her arms. And this was just for the four people in her family...how did people do this for their crazy 8 children plus two parents and a grandma sized family?! Carefully, she popped the lid to her mom's Nissan Leaf and began piling in the boxes and containers so that everything fit nicely and wouldn't move around a whole lot, causing things to break. That way, Liv could still see out the back windshield and not get herself killed on the way out of the parking lot, or on the road home. Sometimes she laughed at herself for living in such an urban part of New York and being at a grocery store, or a gas station - something so ordinary. Everyone came to NYC and thought of it as this great shopping center with stores lining the streets, apartments towering over them. Nobody ever really thought about the ordinary things like food for the families upstairs or filling the cabs that lined the streets.
Nevertheless, Liv managed her way home, and with numerous trips to the car, got all of the groceries inside. "Thanks honey, just leave them there and I'll put them away later. If you could just get the milk and cheese in there that'd be great!" She nodded and put her select items away before going up to her room and grabbing the latest bead catalog she'd gotten from Angie along with her book for English class and her purse before heading back out the door. It was a nice day outside, not too cold but not sweltering hot either, so sitting outside at a coffee shop would do her some good. Olivia would make progress on her book, generate new ideas for the store, and of course, get her dose of caffeine in for the day. Otherwise she'd be kind of spacey and inattentive.
Within minutes she was back in the car and driving down the streets, weaving through Manhattan until she reached the Starbucks not far from her house. The car beeped twice and she dropped the keys into her purse before walking inside. It wasn't terribly crowded but there were still enough people there to make the idle chatter sound like background noise."I'll have a vanilla latte please, grande, skim milk." She placed her order and went to occupy a small table to wait for her coffee. Liv had every intention of going to sit outside and drink and read, but if it took too long, she might just make herself at home at this tiny table in the corner. Thankfully, her name was called within a few minutes and she took her coffee outside and cracked open her book to pass the time.

i, i'm thinking it's a sign that thefreckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss, they're perfectly aligned• • • • • • If people judged Olivia solely based on her Monday to Friday schedule, they would think she's a fantastic child. She made mostly A's with a few scattered B's in school, she was Co-Captain of the cheerleading squad with her best friend, she had a lot of friends, held a steady job, had a clean record with the police (somehow...*coughcough*) and was a gifted art and english student. However, when you factored in Friday nights, saturdays, and sundays, that's where you would easily find Liv's true personality and her usual self. Friday nights were reserved for the girls; if the squad wanted to hang out or have a sleep over, or even if she wanted to hang with Brooke and Emily because they could, they would. Saturday days were for working more than she did on the weekdays, and the nights were for parties. She didn't care if they were jocks or hipsters or goths or whoever, a party was a party. There were good looking guys, friends, and of course alcohol.
Granted, there were a few weekends she didn't go out and party because of family commitments, jewelry shows, or concerts, but mostly that was what she did. Sundays were coffee, showers, and homework days. Aka: the Hangover Antidote day. Now, Liv's hangover wasn't too bad today, but it was still bad enough to make her get out of the house to get coffee. She'd gotten dressed all pretty and everything too, just in case she swung by Angie's place to get back to her collections for the boutique across the street which was starting its sale next weekend. There she could get at least a little bit of work done if there were no customers. Starbucks sometimes got too crowded and then she ended up having to leave or go somewhere else in order to keep her mind focused on the chapter she was reading and not someone else's boring conversation about their weekend.
Speaking of too many people, for an afternoon Starbucks sure was crowded. But there were a few people that made it worth staying. For one, the people there were so nice and friendly even if they didn't look like they were. And then there was Caleb...wait, CALEB? Where'd he come from? "Hey purple pants" was what he said, and Liv knew that it was his voice. That deep, husky, and sarcastic voice she remembered all too well from their little 'after party' by themselves one night a few weeks ago. She and Kendra had helped him furnish his apartment; that's how they'd met when it seemed like Kendra totally had a thing for him. Even after her big Sweet 16, Caleb still seemed interested in Liv which they'd agreed to keep slightly down low at the party because she didn't know how Kendra was going to react.
Seeing Caleb did make her day a little bit better though. So good in fact, that she picked up her bookmark, marked her page, and carried both her book and coffee to Caleb's table and just invited herself to sit down with him. Olivia didn't think it'd be that much of a problem for him and if it was, she'd leave: simple as that. "Well, hey yourself, mister stranger." Liv said with a smile as she pulled her chair in closer to the table. "Long time no see, what have you been up to lately man?" Sometimes she said 'man' or 'yall' or 'dude' because it was just in her personality. That and she was around guys all the time and just picked up a few things here and there.

It honestly didn’t take a lot to keep Caleb happy. Booze, weed, and women were all he really needed. Throw in some underground fighting to pay for all of that and it was pretty much what Caleb always knew and was always familiar with. Growing up he didn’t have parents to spoil him with materialistic things or to push him into doing school sports or clubs. All Caleb knew well were the streets and what women really wanted. Women say they want a rich, handsome, smart guy with this and that and blah blah blah….put Caleb in a room with one of those girls and she’ll definitely walk out with a changed mind.
Caleb enjoyed the pleasure, but at times he just got bored of going from girl to girl. The chase intrigued him but after finally catching whoever he had his eye on, everything turned as fun as the color white. I wish things were different sometimes Caleb thought to himself as he rubbed the top of his head a little looking at the magazine flipping pages. Caleb knew that no one is ever able to really choose what kind of life they have as a child but he thought that he definitely got a curveball and didn’t really….deserve it. Suck that shit up Caleb, you’ve gotten this far haven’t you? He thought to himself as he looked up and called out for Olivia’s attention.
Olivia was a pretty cool person to talk and hang out with. She wasn’t a dumb blonde who you have to explain every single little joke or innuendo to either. Caleb enjoyed her company so when she walked over he wasn’t about to deny her, but he would be the typical sarcastic prick as always. Before Olivia sat down Caleb put his hand across the table “sorry, but only people with normal colored jeans can sit here” he said with a serious face then let out a smirk and moved his hand back. Caleb loved to tease, it was something he couldn’t help at times.
“Stranger? It hasn’t been that long has it?” he asked with a small laugh pulling out his lighter and cigarettes from his pocket and placing it on the table. “….and if it has then we should definitely fix that little problem a.s.a.p” he said with a slight smirk. What have I been up too? He thought. “Well I started the underground fighting, I don’t know if I told you, and have been very successful so far.” He said with a shrug not making it a big deal. “I’ve also been trying to sweet talk the teachers into ‘helping’ me raise my grades because I do want to get the hell out of high school, but besides that not much” he said with a small grin. “what about you? How’s the store and stuff?” He asked playing with his lighter.

i, i'm thinking it's a sign that thefreckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss, they're perfectly aligned• • • • • • Something about Caleb intrigued her, more than other guys. Maybe it was because 90% of the male population at Belmont consisted of the stereotypical private school guys: clean cut mama's boys and perfect on a resume by day, and partiers by night, all from the upper class of Manhattan. Liv had met, dated, hooked up with, screwed, and left a bunch of those guys, yet somehow there were always more chasing after her. She wasn't one to lie to herself: at times, the attention was overwhelming but for the most part she liked it. The times she didn't like it were those days she just didn't feel like putting effort into her appearance and she did anyway because she knew everyone was going to be watching her. As co-captain of the varsity cheerleading team, it was just kind of expected that she and Brooke would be the hottest things since J-Lo and the Backstreet Boys. Nuff said. Except Liv and Brooke, even though they were best friends, handled their lives very, very differently.
Brooke was a very controlled girl; she was hot, but she didn't use it to her advantage too often. She kept her friends close, enemies far away, and dated boys because she had true feelings for them - the way it probably should be. Olivia on the other hand, used everything in her favor to her advantage, screwed around with guys just for sport, kept her friends close and enemies closer, and somehow still managed to keep an A average in school. Yes, despite all the weed and alcohol and crazy life habits, she was actually smart on the inside, somewhere wayy down deep. And for Liv, Caleb had just been 'one of those guys to mess around with' but lately things had been changing. She'd go over, and it almost felt like she'd been there too often; he was comfortable letting her help him get dinner ready, they could talk for hours, even on days when they just ran into each other and weren't hooking up, and (the weirdest by far for her to wrap her head around) was that she had stayed the night and not left first thing in the morning...numerous times.
But enough about that. She wasn't going to change her ways for anyone, even someone as enticing as Caleb. Olivia was young and beautiful and not about to waste her high school career being tied down to someone she might not really be in love with. That was sooo freshman year, please. She took a sip of her coffee before putting it down on the table next to her book and walked away. Nearby there was another empty table, so she grabbed a chair and dragged it over to Caleb and sat it down next to him. "Well you said I can't sit there, so I'm sitting here instead. Happy?" Liv smirked at him. She loved being around him, it was like having a best friend with no limits. There was no boundary between them because they were just two open, friendly people who happened to be attracted to each other. End of story.
She laughed at his hint of the 'asap' because she knew as well as he did that it had in fact been a long time. "Well it's been long enough, that's for sure..." she said, leaving the ending open. It was definitely an offer, and he could take it or leave it. Liv remembered his fighting because sometimes she had to be careful of his bruises and occasional fractures. Her head nodded a few times to show she understood everything up until he asked about the store. "The store is good, it's gonna get crazy with all of the homecoming and charity ball stuff that we are getting in. But I am only making a few things for that boutique down the street and I get 30% of whatever they sell for - total. It's not too bad, because they actually go for a lot!" Liv said excitedly before taking another gulp/sip of her coffee. Ahh the sweet caffeinated taste of the mornings. Someone needed help passing his classes, poor boy. "Well Caleb, if you really need help, I can help you out." There was nothing else needed. He knew exactly what she meant, mostly. Liv wanted him to pass, grades were actually important to her. So they'd actually get some studying done, and then they could have some fun afterward. Simple as that. Except if he kept playing with that lighter and he set her book of fire, she might not be as happy of a camper as she was right now.

Something about Olivia intrigued Caleb’s interest more than any usual or typical girl. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it but he knew that he enjoyed her company more than any other female. They could talk about everything and anything and he didn’t feel as if he had to put up a front for her or lie to her. However, he would still do his best to keep his past behind him and not mention anything about it. Caleb pretty much had that idea locked in because back home, he wasn’t the most stable person ever, and it’s something that he will have on his record and programmed into his brain for the rest of his life.
Caleb didn’t want to complicate things, but his actions with Olivia would say otherwise. Usually a one night stand consisted of being physically pleased for a few hours and then sending the girl….politely of course….on her way. But with Olivia they always did something after, whether it was eating breakfast, watching tv, or talking. Although Olivia had a minor reputation for sleeping around, Caleb didn’t judge her for it, because he slept around too. But last time he felt anything for anybody, it turned out extremely bad, and he never was raised with good parents or his birth parents for that matter, so trying to really care about a person, and open up to them was a challenge for Caleb.
Caleb’s thoughts vanished as Olivia got closer and he saw her pull a chair from the next table and at first wondered why she was getting another chair if his table already had two. When she explained herself he laughed a little and nodded. He obviously didn’t mind her being closer to him. “Why waste a chair when you can sit on my lap?” he joked with a smirk and a wink as he placed his arm behind her chair. He enjoyed Liv’s sense of humor and knew she wouldn’t take anything to the heart. It’s been long enough….he repeated in his head. That it has, and Caleb has only had a few girls over to keep him a little busy.
“Well you know where I live if you want to change that……unless you want me to go over your place…..I could meet your mom too” he was obviously joking about the mom part, but it peaked his curiosity as to why Caleb was never invited to her house. Liv started talking about the store and Caleb nodded watching how excited she got when talking about it. He smiled a little when she eagerly finished. “That’s pretty sweet, now you can pay for my bills” he joked with a laugh. Caleb didn’t need money for the moment, but he felt as if he might have to go to fights less frequently because his body was taking a toll for it.
In the mornings it sucked for Caleb waking up because it felt like he got hit by a bus. Sometimes he wouldn’t go to school because his body refused to cooperate with him. I guess doing it since the age of 14 is starting to affect me he thought to himself. He got lost in his thoughts once again and noticed Olivia said something so he tried to figure out what she was talking about. He caught the last part….I can help you out. “Huh?.....oh you mean with school” he said with a nod. Its funny how he had Jenna helping him with history even though in the beginning it was just a scheme, now he had Olivia offering. Girls in Cali would just shrug and keep living their lives without really offering help.
“Um can I get back to you on that? The reason why my grades are so low is because I’m absent a few times so I miss the work, don’t think I’m dumb or anything” he said with a small laugh. The last thing he wanted was for girls to think he was just a waste of space. Caleb wasn’t stupid, he was actually smart in most subjects, its just his effort that killed him. He was a huge procrastinator when it came to getting things done. Caleb looked over at Olivia, “so what tool from school is taking you to homecoming?” he asked her as he took another sip of his coffee. He was curious to see perhaps who his competition was, it couldn’t be that bad….

i, i'm thinking it's a sign that thefreckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss, they're perfectly aligned• • • • • • ( quick disclaimer -- i just saw the notebook and i'm extremely sad, sorry if that is reflected in my attempt at a happy and sarcastic post )
Fancy running into the one boy she would've liked to hook up with the previous night, on the day after she partied like there would never be another weekend...as always. Of course Liv hardly ever missed a party unless there was something super important going on that she absolutely had to attend instead (ex: relatives in town, or the SAT the next morning, or a jewelry/art show). Now here she was, at Starbucks, nursing her aching headache and hangover, and Caleb was perfectly sober. This was something that rarely happened. Usually if they were together it was after a long night consisting of the unusual, yet becoming common, string of events. Maybe since this was the one day they didn't hook up the night before and they were eating breakfast together, it was 'some sort of sign...' NAH. Olivia didn't believe in that kind of crap, and she assumed she never would because it just sounded plain ridiculous.
She chuckled softly and shook her head. Oh leave it to Caleb to suggest a lap-sit in public. Somehow it didn't sound good, but hey, it was an opportunity. And god forbid she ever let one of those slip by without a good reason. Once again, Olivia stood up and slid this time into Caleb's lap, sitting sideways so she was looking at him, and put an arm around his chair for support so she didn't fall. "Is this better?' Liv asked with a smirk on her face. 'Course she knew it was better, but it was still an honest question. Something in the back of her head, however was busy taking notes and making charts of her life. First of all, Liv had the whore reputation very under the radar, but it was still there. She never spent the night, or gave any guy more than a few hours worth of her attention. Yet here she was, acting all coupley with Caleb, and while she kind of liked it, it was SO FAR out of her comfort zone it was a little weird. To make herself feel better, she just pretended to be flirting and pushed away anything else for the time being.
Come to think of it, Marley - her sister, did have a soccer tournament this weekend and would be in Buffalo with her dad, and her mom was away on business until Wednesday. Caleb could probably come over if he really wanted to. "Actually, nobody's home this weekend, if you really wanna see my side of the city. You won't get to meet my mom, but I'll let her konw you were thinking of her." Yet another open invitation. Goddamnit Liv, get yourself in line. There are so many other guys, except you're sticking yourself to Caleb...why?! Whatever, sarcasm was lightening the mood. And to further prove her point, when he talked about paying the bills, she stuck her tongue out at him and shook her head. No way Jose. She had way better things to do with her money, like save for college and stuff. He fought his way into money, and if it worked for him, he should move up and make more money as it kept on.
Rolling her eyes just barely, she flicked his arm. "Duh with school dumbo!" She said sarcastically. Surely he saw the double meaning but she'd let the public think what hey wanted. "Sure, don't worry about it. Just a suggestion", she responded with a shrug of her shoulder. In all honesty, it was just a friendly offer so that he didn't die on his butt before he passed his senior year. And then the ever popular question of homecoming...sometimes Liv hated school dances because they caused so much drama. Not that she didn't live for the drama and everything, but she dealt with one-night-stand/party drama, not 3 month drawn out drama about t-shirt colors and dates, etc. Nevertheless, she went every year, and always had a better time at the after party anyway. Besides, this year was Marley's first year in high school, and she promised she'd attend just to make sure Marley didn't get her ass kicked by some drunk seniors. Marley was the most innocent girl ever. She wore jeans, t-shirts, and toms, played soccer, and wore her hair in a ponytail with an elastic headband every day. "Not all the guys I hang out with are tools, first of all. And actually, nobody. There was one of the freshman football players who tried to ask me because he thought he was 'cool enough to bag a senior' as I heard it said. So I gave him a kiss on the cheek, told him no, and sent him back to the cafeteria." Liv laughed remembering the look on his face. It was halfway between loving the fact that she'd kissed him, and hating the fact that she'd said no. But seriously, he should've seen it coming. Besides, Olivia was holding out for someone her own age or older - she would never go younger unless they were really something special. This freshman footballer was definitely not.

Waking up on this sore morning Caleb didn’t really have any idea what to expect. Making plans weren’t exactly his style because he didn’t like committing to something if he wasn’t extremely sure he would actually do it. Going to Starbucks was pretty much his time to greet the day and see if there was anything interesting going around town. Seeing Olivia completely altered Caleb’s mood, but in a good way. He felt groggy, weak and tired on his way over to Starbucks but realizing she was only a few feet away made him feel a little more…chipper. Olivia was the kind of girl to never really care about what others thought about her, and Caleb liked that. Girls are usually insecure about their entire existence and ask people questions about their weight, outfit, makeup, etc…Olivia always seemed to just go with the flow whether it was good or bad, and Caleb definitely noticed making their….’friendship’ a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable. Caleb noticed Olivia wasn’t all that awake so he figured she partied the night before, it was a real shame he wasn’t a part of it, but he was ok with that, they still spent time together when they could.
The nights Caleb fought consisted of mostly recovery after, showing up to a party with a cut lip or bruised cheek/rib was never really ideal for Caleb because people, especially girls would be all over him, drunk or sober, and putting pressure against his injured area. Olivia was used to the program by now, she would always be careful around his weak spots when they hooked up, another thing Caleb appreciated. He smirked as he saw Olivia stand up when he suggested she sit on his lap. When Olivia put her arm around the chair for support, Caleb simply placed one arm around her waist, just in case she would slip back he could prevent that from happening. His other hand was place on her thigh as he looked up at her. He laughed a little when she asked if it was better. “Like you really have to ask?” he said with a devilish grin. Caleb usually enjoyed when girls sat on his lap, that is, before they hooked up in his apartment or at the club when they were flirting.
Olivia sitting on his lap, at Starbucks, in the morning seemed way too….couple-like. But at the same time, he wasn’t going to tell her to get up. Caleb raised an eyebrow when Olivia broke the news that her house would be empty for the weekend. In all honesty, Caleb was joking a little about coming over, but if Olivia was inviting him, he wasn’t going to turn her down. “Sounds like a good time to me, I’m up for it if you are” he said not wanting to sound dramatic about it. Caleb casually looked around at the people around them and he smirked a little wondering what Olivia would do if he kissed her in public. No one was even paying attention to anything besides the cup of coffee in their hand. Caleb moved his hand from her thigh to her neck as he leaned in to steal a kiss from her. Caleb laughed a little as Olivia flicked him after as if it was really going to hurt him.
“So-rry, I spaced out for a little bit, sheesh” he said lightly rubbing his arm pretending that it did hurt. Caleb appreciated her offer though, it was good to know that there were people willing to help him out. In Cali it seemed as if people were only trying to keep him down. “I’ll keep that suggestion in mind” he nodded slightly with a small smile. The whole homecoming question surprised Caleb just as it did Olivia. He knew it was in the next month but hadn’t been really thinking about it until he saw her. “Your right, not all of them are tools, only 99% are, leaving me to be the 1%” he said with a smirk as he rested his lower back against the chair. Caleb honestly got a little relieve she wasn’t going with anyone, Caleb never attended a lot of dance but this time around he might start. He laughed as Liv told him the story of the freshman and he shook his head a little “sucks for him” he said with a slight smirk. “Wait you gave him a kiss on the cheek? That’s so not fair, I feel as if our friendship might suffer because of that now” Caleb said joking, he knew he could get a lot more if they both headed to his apartment, but he wasn’t in a rush. Hanging out in broad daylight with Olivia was looking good so far…

i, i'm thinking it's a sign that thefreckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss, they're perfectly aligned• • • • • • This was totally outside of Olivia's comfort zone and whether or not she showed it on the outside, she was scared on the inside. Yes, she loved being with Cal, sitting on his lap, drinking coffee with him in the morning, but she didn't want to be tied down. High school was the place for exploration and having fun; yet if anyone stopped by Starbucks this morning, they would have assumed Liv had changed her ways and was dating Caleb Herrington...something she hadn't ever considered. Now that's not to say she didn't get all giddy around him and just smiled when she saw him in the halls because he genuinely made her happy. But she wasn't falling for him, no no no, she couldn't do that. That went against everything Olivia had fought all of her high school career. Commitment was something for people who were afraid to see the rest of the world. They found someone comfortable, and settled. Liv decided not to settle for comfort and went on her own adventures and had never dreamed of finding an actual boyfriend until it counted and she was going to actually have a life outside of school and work, etc; when she had a career to live for, and someone next to her helping her achieve her goals. That was commitment, and that was not what she needed right now. But with Caleb, things were different. She was already a lot closer to him than she'd ever been with any other guy. Sure Aaron was her best friend, and they hooked up, but they were still best friends and it was always very...easy. With Cal everything seemed so complicated.
"Enough crazy talk Liv...he's just another guy..." she tried to tell herself, while she was smiling at Caleb. A small shiver went up her spine as he slid his arm around her waist. One, she was ticklish and this was one of her worst spots. Two, her head and her heart were screaming two very different things. Her head said that there was something totally wrong with being in a position like this without intentionally flirting to get something she wanted, while her heart said the only thing she needed to do right now was kiss him and everything would be okay. "Of course, common courtesy." Liv said, lacking anything else in her brain to retort with. Obviously, after everything they'd already done together, sitting on his lap was as innocent as it could possibly be between them. "Well then I think something can easily be arranged this weekend." She smirked, knowing that something would definitely be planned for the weekend. In all honesty, it'd been a while since she'd seen Caleb, whether they were hooking up or not.
Now Liv was a fairly observant person, but she did NOT see it coming when Caleb leaned in and planted a kiss firmly on her lips. That was when the heart won the 'head vs heart' battle and instinct took over. But she had to remember, they were in public, but she kissed him back nevertheless. It was short, but nice, and something Olivia could -frighteningly- get used to. She moved her free hand and draped her arm loosely behind his shoulder, just to keep him close, because frankly she didn't want to leave him. Goddamn, even in her head, she sounded like a clingy girlfriend already. This was exactly why she didn't do relationships, or one of the reason anyway. With her other hand, she softly patted the spot on his arm she'd flicked, before regaining her balance and putting it behind the chair again. God help her if she fell. "Don't worry, I was just kidding man!" Goodness, people and sarcasm these days were just not mixing well.
Call her crazy, but Caleb didn't seem like much of a guy for school dances. All three years that Olivia had attended homecoming, her date had been on the football team, someone she cheered for every Friday night and during every playoff game of the season. Usually it was a friend of hers too. If memory served her (which it often didn't on most weekends), she'd gone with Park to homecoming the year she had gotten pregnant, but other than that her experiences had been decent with homecoming. The obvious stood clearly though: the after parties were always better. But Cal asking her about homecoming...quite strange. Quite strange indeed. "Hey, you're not the only one that's not a tool. Just because most of them are, doesn't mean you're alone in that category." If he was smart, he'd remember she was wearing boots with tall, pointy heels she could easily jab into his legs to make him shut up. Kind of like a cattle prod, except black and fashionable. "Yeah, well he kinda deserved it. He should've known to stick to his tiny fish buddies, and was lucky I didn't slap him like some of my friends would have if it was them. Besides, Caleb, are you really intimidated by freshman football players who smell like B.O. and have hardly hit puberty yet; considering you fight guys that are way scarier?" One could almost here the 'no, i don't think so' ringing in the air afterward, but she didn't say it. He knew she was being sarcastic and all of her pointed comments were all in good fun. Liv realized that this -sitting at Starbucks, being cuddly, joking, etc.- must be what actual flirting is like, not just trying to get someone into bed with you....Hmm, strange but true.

This may have not been the first time Caleb has had a female on his lap like this, but it was the second time it was in public and he connected with the female physically as well as intellectually. The first time was obviously with Scarlet and now it seemed to be with Olivia. The first day Caleb met Olivia, he honestly didn't think much about her. She was a friend on Kendra's and that was it. Then when they started talking more he thought it would just be another fling under his belt but now he’s realized it is a little more complicated than that. Flings don’t usually stay for breakfast or just in bed talking about different things, or come with you to see you fight some nights at the underground. Nope, Olivia definitely wasn’t a fling, but she wasn’t his girlfriend either, Caleb didn’t think he was even ready for another relationship. It had been what, a year and a half since the incident? Moving on at this point in time would be way too quick. Relax Caleb, you’re stressing yourself out for nothing he quietly thought to himself as he looked up at Olivia, no one could deny she was gorgeous though, Caleb couldn’t.
Seeing Liv in an instant granted Caleb the certainty that that day would be a good day, regardless of what they did and didn’t do. Just being around Olivia made Caleb feel as if he was good for something again, but the answer exactly still was amiss because Caleb honestly and coldheartedly believed happiness wasn’t in the cards for him. Everything he could have ever wanted was always sooner or later taken away from him, why would Liv be any different? She’s just another girl Caleb, no point in trying to make it seem like it is what it isn’t he thought to himself as he looked around a little breaking away some eye contact between the two. He snickered at her courtesy comment and retorted with “you, courteous? Since when?” as a slight smirk formed across his lips. Caleb loved sarcasm, it was honestly one thing he was good at. He smiled just a little as Olivia stated that they could hang out at her house this weekend, another thing couples did, but Caleb opened his big mouth about it and would look really stupid if he tried to make an excuse not to go.
It’s just friends hanging out he assured himself, a little too quickly. He at least hoped things wouldn’t be awkward in a new place seeing as how they weren’t going to be hanging out at his apartment this time. With his luck her mom would probably come back early or something catching him in her house and either calling the cops or beating him with a spatula. Two situations Caleb faced back home a few times, a slight smirk forming again as he remembered. Not following rules was how Caleb liked living his life, so stealing a kiss just proved that he could honestly not care whether people saw them or not, but he hoped Olivia wouldn’t smack him and stand up and leave just because of his impulsive action. When Caleb felt Liv’s arm drape around his shoulder, he knew she didn’t mind as he felt her lips connect with his quickly. “oops” he said with a light laugh biting his bottom lip as he looked up at her pretending to feel bad for kissing her in public, when he really didn’t.
Caleb only attended school dances if he didn’t have anything better to do and was looking for some action that night. He couldn’t really explain why he asked Olivia about it in the first place, it’s not like she would accept and they could go, be seen together and be involved in school gossip. That wouldn’t be ideal hethought to himself. He couldn’t help but laugh at her ‘tool’ comment “yeah ok, if you say so” he said with a smirk shaking his head. A lot of guys at Belmont Prep were tools, which is why Caleb barely talked a lot of them. He preferred hanging around guys like Luke and Park. But Olivia was right, Caleb wasn’t jealous, he didn’t need to be, he just enjoyed joking around with Liv and the fact that she got asked out by a freshman was pretty amusing. “Of course not” he said with a grin obviously separating himself from the freshman dweeb. “So, whats your plan for the rest of the day?” he asked as he took a sip of his coffee.
