``They'll name a city after us,,``And later say it's all our fault,,It had been somewhat of a regular day for Alexander. He awoke when his alarm clock started buzzing at 6:00 a.m. sharp, he took a morning shower as he always did. The weather outside felt cold or at least cold enough for him, so along with the gray T-shirt he had been planning to wear he covered his torso with a heavy brown jacket and quickly put on his denim jeans. After stuffing his feet into his boots, spraying on one of the colognes lying over his dress table, strapping his favorite Omega around his wrist and covering his eyes with his black shades, he was all ready.
Breakfast was also the usual, yet his favorite and what he preferred, toast and omelette along with a glass of orange juice. Alexander was always in a hurry when it came to breakfast and so in spite of his Mother's persuasive complaints, "Chew your food properly Alexander!" The moment his mother got busy talking with his father, he had once again started stuffing the food down his throat as quickly as possible, then with a single gulp the orange juice glass was placed down now empty and Alexander was running towards the door.
Now, Alexander was walking down the school hall towards the elevator as he always did, a few faces stared as he passed by, some even waved at him and he politely waved back along with a nod and a smile. Finally he reached the elevator and his thumb was pressed over the button calling it down. Second floor, first class and that is where he was headed to, if the elevator actually got down. "Come on!! What's taking so long," he whispered. It was almost a minute now and the elevator was still on the second floor. Alexander had to practically pound the buttons a few times and he was almost about to budge when the light moved to the number '1'. Finally!! he though, Faulty mechanism.
And once again Alexander's day was back on track, the elevator door opened with a ring on the ground floor, in the meanwhile Alexander had attached his iPod to the headphones and popped them into his ears as he walked in the elevator. He chuckled as Regina Spektor - "Us" started to play. He felt butterflies flying in his stomach, Is that too girly, he wondered, then let go of that thought and pushed the button with the number '2'. He was now headed to the second floor, 'as usual', no interruptions or so he thought. Just a few minutes later the elevator stopped with a ring. Alexander looked up at the numbers, '1' was brightly lit up. What the..

She had woken up before her alarm, but had felt surprisingly well rested despite the early hour that she had woken up at. She was not a morning person by any means, so saying that was definitely a pretty big deal for her, especially when most mornings one of her parents or her housekeeper had to come in and practically drag her out of bed to get her down to the car and to school on time. She was never late because it would harm her perfect attendance record, which was helpful towards her college and university applications so she tried to at least force herself out the door on her lazier mornings. It was hard sometimes, but with her future and ambitions at stake, she made herself do whatever she needed to do. That morning, there was no need to drag her out bed or rush her down to the car, because Brooke had actually gotten a good sleep and wasn’t feeling lazy. It had been a nice change to not have to drag herself out of bed and into the shower for once.
Brooke was now wandering through the hallways at Belmont, heading towards her locker to drop off her books from her first few classes and exchange them with the ones she needed for her next two classes. The hallways were as crowded as they usually were for a school that didn’t have nearly as many students as typical high schools did, and Brooke waved and smiled at quite a few familiar faces as she went. That was how it worked around Belmont; everyone knew everyone and their business thanks to Lady T. Brooke sometimes wondered why the gossiper had chosen to target students at Belmont, but figured it was probably because they were part of Manhattan’s elite, and were more likely to do things that were gossip-worthy because of their lifestyle. Of course, not everyone at Belmont was there because of their parents’ money, and were there instead on scholarship, but even those people found a way to make it onto Lady T’s gossip blog. Brooke herself hadn’t been on it yet, which surprised a lot of people considering she was the cheerleading captain and quite popular within the student body, and she was glad that she was still under the radar. Her life had been complicated enough when there had been countless blasts of her before she’d left for the summer, and now that she was back she was glad to have a clean, fresh start.
Once she had deposited her books and gotten the ones she needed, Brooke headed towards the elevator, feeling too tired to take the stairs. As she moved to push the button, a young man beat her too it so she just stood behind him and waited for the elevator to come down and open so that they could get in. She could hear the young man muttering at it to hurry up, then smiled a bit when the doors finally opened and he expressed his pleasure with the situation. Rolling her eyes, she adjusted her purse on her shoulder then stepped into the elevator behind him, standing on the other side and shifting her books into a more comfortable position. While she waited, he pushed the button and she watched as he put headphones into his ears. The elevator began to move and Brooke leaned against the railing while she waited for it to reach the second floor, but a moment later the elevator stopped with a ring. Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, Brooke looked up and realized that the stupid thing had stopped fully. “Ugh, wonderful!”
