tonight was just another typical night for luke. he was planning on heading to a new club that opened last week and check it out. he was starting to get tired of going to the same ones over and over so finding out there was going to be a new one gave him some hope. his house was as usual empty and he was the only one around. he had music blasting in the penthouse as he started to get dressed in his room. now that he had everything he needed luke was ready to head out. leaving the penthouse he hopped onto the elevator and waited until he reached the garage floor. luke normally didn't take his car out because he always ended up drinking and he was smart enough to know he shouldn't be driving. but tonight luke had no intentions of drinking which was pretty shocking. the day before he suffered from one of the worst hangovers he probably ever had and just wanted a break from alcohol. reaching the garage level he grabbed his keys out of his pocket and pressed the button opening the doors. getting inside his car luke stuck the key into the ignition and was ready to leave. putting his car into drive luke slowly pressed on the gas pedal and was out of the garage in no time. the club luckily wasn't too far of a drive from where he was so it wouldn't take him that long to get there. the one thing luke hated about driving was that he had to concentrate on the road so he wouldn't hit crazy new yorkers who just walked into the street without paying attention. oh, and he wasn't able to use his phone which was a hassle because his friend was waiting for him outside the club and needed updates on how far he was. finally getting there luke was luckily enough to find a parking spot that wasn't too far from the entrance.
parking his car luke got out and walked towards the entrance which had a huge line. running a hand through his hair luke spotted his friend waiting for him by the bouncer and walked over to him. the both of them were let in immediately as everyone watched in envy. looking around luke was actually pretty impressed with the turn out and how the place looked. making his way towards the bar luke ordered a simple coke which he rarely ever did when he was at a club. then when he noticed the pretty girl next to him he ordered her another drink. they had only talking for about five minutes when luke felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. he had no idea who could be calling him this late at night so he fished it out of his pocket. looking at the caller id luke thought there was no way he was reading this right. jenna was calling him of all people? they were friends and all but he didn't think she would have any reason to call him this late at night. answering the phone it didn't take him long to realize that jenna was drunk. jenna almost never drinks taylor was drunk and was calling him instead of her boyfriend rigg. maybe it was because l came before r in her phone book? he had no idea why but when she asked him to come get her luke wasn't sure what to do. he asked her where she was and when she gave the name he realized that it was a house party everyone had been talking about. luke thought it would be better if he skipped it because there were too many people he wasn't planning on running into.
luke told her that he would be on his way and ended the call. he had barely been in the club ten minutes and he was leaving to give his ex-girlfriend a ride home. it was something nobody would expect from him especially when there was a hot girl who was obviously into him. he said goodbye without an explanation and made his way out of the club and back towards his car. it was a shame he didn't get to spend anymore time in the club but he wasn't sure letting jenna drunk and loose on the city was the smartest of ideas. there was no telling whether she would reveal her big i'm not a virgin secret and he knew that she would be devastated if that was let out. luke wouldn't bother doing this for most girls but jenna was one the nicest ones around and he didn't want anything happening to her. it didn't take him long to reach the house and he quickly found a parking space. jogging up to the door he entered and looked around noticing many familiar faces. he waved to a few people but didn't have time to stop and chat because he really needed to find jenna and make sure she was okay.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me . Loud music blared from the tight apartment building that was Jenna's currently location. All she really knew at the time was that she was hot, uncomfortable and felt extremely funny. House parties were pretty commonplace for the sociable seventeen year old, but this one proved to be much different. It was a mix of people from Belmont, people that looked to be about her age, and college kids crammed in the small space. It was clear that the hosts of the party weren't aware of their turn out or else they would have started kicking people out- it was that packed. The crowding of the apartment was the least of Jenna's worries though; she was drunk, for the first time in her life and honestly she had never been more scared.
It all started earlier that day, whenever a girl in Jenna's sociology class sent her a text asking her if she wanted to attend a party in Upper West Side, Manhattan. The girl was on the squad with Jenna and although the two weren't particularly the closest friends, Jenna couldn't turn down the offer. Rigg wasn't in the mood to do much of anything and the medicine that the doctors had him on made him so out of it to the point that all he basically did was sleep. Jenna hadn't really been out in awhile, so she figured she owed it to herself. Once she arrived though it was difficult to be her normal carefree self because she was so stressed out. She was offered her first drink around nine o'clock and it all sort of went downhill from there. Jenna had drank a lot of whatever she was being handed and for awhile she was having a pretty good time, dancing and carrying on loud conversations. It stayed like that for about an hour until she was handed something insanely strong and downed it within seconds. Then, Jenna's head started throbbing and she was almost unable to stand up. She found herself constantly holding on to things or falling all over people involuntarily while dancing.
The guy that had handed her the drink was tall, much taller than Jenna, with dirty blonde hair and tattoos covering his right arm completely. He looked a lot older, but before she downed whatever was in the glass, Jenna saw no stranger. She was pretty sure that he had said his name was Mitch, or something along those lines, but she couldn't be quite sure. She felt numb and noodle-like, uncomfortable and hot as beads of sweat raced down her face. It all felt like a bad dream, so Jenna had to do something about it. She thought about calling Rigg, but she didn't want to worry him, so she promptly saw Luke's contact and pressed send without thinking twice, slurring to him the importance of him coming to pick her up. To her drunken surprise, Luke hadn't protested in the slightest and told her he was on his way to get her, or something like that. Jenna wasn't positive with anything at that point because all of her thoughts were mushed together and she felt a lot mentally like she did physically- loose and out of control of her body.
About five minutes had passed since Jenna could remember being on her phone at all, and the tall blonde that had given her the drink slinked over to where she was sitting on the floor. "Yeah, she should be good by now," One of the boys in the room yelled to the blonde one, "How long ago did you give it to her?" The blonde one shrugged, "Probably about ten minutes ago?" Jenna slowly brought her head up to see the guy that had given her the strange drink, her eyelids seeming heavy as her mouth lazily hung open as if it was too much work to actually close it. "Yeah, right now she's just gonna act like that," The other boy told the blonde, laughing at the sight of the small brunette slumping on the floor. "Give her about an hour or so and she'll be completely knocked out, but from the looks of her now you could probably convince her before it kicks in."
Jenna was trying her best to understand what the guys were talking about. Hearing wasn't an issue, seeing as how the two were practically shouting over the music, it was just the fact that Jenna wasn't able to form complete thoughts at that point. The tall blonde was obviously done talking to the other guy, because before Jenna knew it her drenched-with-sweat body was being lifted from the floor of the small apartment and slung against the guy's buff chest. Jenna had no idea where she was, where she was going or what she was doing. All she could hope was that when she made that phone call a few minutes ago that she made it to the right person.

luke had no idea how he was going to find jenna in all these people. this was one of the reasons luke hadn't wanted to come to this party, they always turned out over crowded. it wouldn't be too long before the police came to break this up and when they saw all the underage drinking going on luke didn't want to be here. making his way through the crowd he paused when he thought he saw jenna sitting on the floor completely out of it. but she wasn't on the ground for long because some guy was there to pick her up. seeing jenna slung over some guy's shoulder almost drove luke insane. he had no idea who he was but all he knew was that he shouldn't be touching jenna. he pushed his way to the crowd ignoring people's complaints. he didn't care what anyone had to say he needed to get over there as soon as possible. stopping in front of the guy he seemed surprised at luke's presence. it was obvious how angry he was at the moment and the guy seemed to realize he messed with the wrong girl. grabbing jenna away from him luke used his other hand to push the guy against the wall. it was really tempting to put jenna down and just let loose on the guy. just thinking about the swings he would be able to get on him made luke want to do it even more. but he had come here to take jenna home not start some big fight in the middle of the party. sure it would start between the both of them but then other people would start getting involved and luke didn't want to be the cause of that. the music was so loud that he had no idea what the guy was saying but luke wasn't going to waste his time on him.
walking quickly towards the door luke was still fuming. you're going to drive me insane he let out knowing that jenna probably didn't hear him or care. people were giving them looks but all he wanted to do was get out of this place as soon as possible. of all the people he thought he would have to help out of a party he never thought it would be jenna. just thinking about all the things that could have happened to jenna was really driving him crazy. that guy could have done whatever he wanted with her and she wouldn't have been able to stop him. if he decided not to come she would probably be in some random bedroom with some perverted guy on top of her. luke continued pushing his way to the crowd until people got that they should probably move because he was carrying someone and he looked as though he was ready to commit murder. finally reaching the door luke was glad that jenna was so light. walking towards his car he helped her stand as he opened the door and put her into the seat. slamming the door closed he went over to the other side and dropped himself inside. what were you thinking jenna? he asked her trying really hard not to yell at her. this was the first time that she ever really did anything this crazy and he knew that he shouldn't be completely angry with her. banging his head against the back of his head rest he tried hard to calm himself down. this was the most emotion luke felt towards a girl in the longest time. too bad that emotion had to be anger. breathing slowly luke was still angry but he knew that he probably wouldn't snap at jenna as long as she didn't do anything else stupid. grabbing her seat belt he buckled her in and then did the same to himself. turning on his engine he just started driving towards jenna's apartment.
i wasn't expecting this tonight luke said followed by a small chuckle. even though this wasn't how he wanted his night to go it was definitely rather interesting. this was also a rare moment to see jenna wasted and he was going to enjoy seeing what he could get out of her. oh and she was probably going to have to give him free coffee for the rest of his life for doing this. she did make a hell of a cup and he could really use them when he had a bad hangover.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me . Jenna allowed her heavy eyelids to drop for a moment before slowly opening them again. She squinted to see a tall, dark headed boy pushing through the crowd. Was that.. Luke? Her eyelids fluttered shut again for a moment before she opened them as wide as she physically could in her current state. Luke must have been who she'd spoken to on the phone earlier- or so she hoped. Luke looked kind of angry though, and when he shoved the tall blonde out of the way and picked Jenna up she knew that was who she must have called. Why Luke? Nothing made sense to Jenna but she was definitely happy that he was there. She hung limp in Luke's arms for a moment before reaching around to lace her thin arms around his neck for support.
Jenna felt hot and sticky. If she would have been in her right frame of mind a million things would have been running through her head, but of course she wasn't.. thus why she was in this situation to begin with. Her damp head rested against Luke's chest and her mouth was lazily open as before. If this was what being drunk felt like, Jenna was seriously confused why people did it for fun. There was no way that everything she felt was solely because of something that she drank- she felt like a wet rag, literally. Jenna could feel her body squirming slightly in Luke's arms, but of course it was beyond her control. Her mind and body were two completely separate things right then and it felt so odd for Jenna. After allowing her body to move around a bit, Jenna relaxed a bit and just sort of lied in Luke's arms as if every fiber of her being was completely drained from any energy whatsoever. She heard him say something to her, but she didn't bother to respond- she didn't have the energy to anyway.
Jenna could feel the cool November air prick her sweaty body like a million little needles. She shivered instinctively, half wondering what she was even wearing now. Jenna was pretty sure that she went into the party wearing something at least semi-conservative, but there was no telling what was left of all of that now. Before she knew it she was being placed slowly in the passengers seat of what she assumed to be Luke's car. Once the door was shut and she was somewhat settled in, Jenna decided that she was right- it was Luke's car. She inhaled the familiar scent and dropped a heavy hand on the leather partition, dragging it slowly to feel the cool sensation that it brought her warm hand.
Luke's outburst broke Jenna from her daze almost instantly. He sounded mad, really mad. She repeated his words in her head over and over again, trying to comprehend them and get the ringing out of her eardrums. What was she thinking? It was hard telling. "I don't.." She started, bringing a heavy hand across her semi-damp face to rub the brunette hair that stuck to it out of her way, "I mean... I wasn't..." Jenna stopped talking, hoping that would suffice. It was true at least, she wasn't thinking when she decided that it was a good idea to take drinks from older strangers. Jenna typically knew her limits and after a few drinks she would usually stop, if she drank anything at all. Tonight was just not set out to be good anyway. With everything going on with Rigg, her classes, work, Lane suddenly becoming more and more apparent in her life... it was too much for even Jenna Taylor to handle- and that was saying a lot.
"I know, I wasn't either," Jenna replied somewhat coherently to Luke's statement about not expecting this tonight. "Don't bother taking me home I have no key." It wasn't smart of Jenna, but she was planning to stay at a friends house or stop by Rigg's whenever she left, not really go back to her apartment. "You can just drop me off at the park I will sleep," Jenna's words slurred together as she made Central Park seem like the most ideal place where she could sleep, though Luke clearly had an open penthouse. In Jenna's drunken mind, she didn't think that he'd be okay with that. Sure, he picked her up from the party but at the same time that was just basically intruding to ask to stay at his house. Whatever the case, it all made sense in Jenna's head then.

she seemed to slowly begin to understand what was happening and was able to at least reply to his question. she wasn't thinking, that actually made sense. maybe she wasn't as drunk as he thought. he shook his head when she told him she didn't have her key with her. luke was really hoping she hadn't left it at the party or anything. he didn't even bother to check if she had all her stuff he just wanted to hurry up and get her out of that place. luke had so many questions he wanted to ask jenna about tonight. for example, why did she call him of all people? she was a popular cheerleader and anyone she called would probably rush to her rescue. she probably had friends that were much more reliable than he was that would have gladly come over to get her. but instead she called him and he surprised himself by ditching everything to come and get her. maybe it was because she was one of the few people he had anything mildly serious with. and he was on good terms with her when it ended which was hard to come by.
he looked at her for a moment when she told him to drop her off at the park. as if he was going to leave her at the park this late at night when she was extremely drunk. sometimes dealing with people's drunken logic really gave luke a headache. the park it is then he told her as he turned the car and started driving towards his house. there were plenty of empty rooms in the penthouse that she would be able to sleep in. at least he wouldn't have to spend the night alone that was a plus. but her reaction when she woke up the next morning would be an interesting one. of all the places she woke up after a party it would have been at his house. the sad thing is that most girls could say that they've been in that position. though he was careful about the ones he brought back with him. he made sure that they were the ones that were going to leave him alone and act as if the night never happened. unless the both of them happened to be lonely one night and bumped into one another. jenna hadn't been to his house in the longest time and he was pretty sure this wasn't the type of occasion where she wanted to show up there.
luke was wondering how rigg would feel about the whole situation. knowing that his girlfriend went home drunk with her ex-boyfriend who happened to be a major playboy. it didn't sound so good when you said it like that but he probably trusted that jenna didn't do anything wrong. she always seemed to be doing the right thing and it was hard for anyone to dislike her or find something wrong about her. but for his sake maybe it was better if rigg didn't find out so he wouldn't come after luke wanting blood. they were both on the soccer team so that would cause some tension between them after also. luke wasn't the most popular guy amongst boyfriends that was for sure. everyone expected him to try to steal their girlfriends so they were careful. as if he wanted to be with a girl that would only bring him trouble later on.
they were at the parking garage in no time and soon enough he would be able to get her into a bed so she could sleep all this off. i hope you didn't really think i was going to leave you at the park he told her as he turned off the engine of his car. what kind of guy would he be to leave a girl like her at a park when he had plenty of space at his house. maybe it wasn't the ideal place that she wanted to be but it seemed much better than the park. getting out of the car luke walked over to the other side and opened the door for her. sticking his head into the car he unbuckled her seat belt then helped her get out of the car. he was careful to make sure she didn't hurt herself and wake up covered in bruises. now all he had to do was get her to the elevator and up to his floor and he would be golden. luckily his car wasn't too far from the elevator and it wouldn't be much of a walk.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me . There was a brief moment where no words were exchanged between Jenna and Luke. Jenna's head felt glued to the leather seat of Luke's car as she drowsily watched the streetlights appear then disappear in some sort of a pattern. With every streetlight they passed Jenna's eyelids got more and more difficult to hold open and eventually she surrendered and allowed them to close. She felt sticky and uncomfortable in an odd mix of anxiety and exhaustion. Once Jenna closed her eyes it was like she had no idea where she was, who she was with, what she was doing; nothing. Her heart was beating fast, yet she lied in comatose in the passenger's seat. It was hands down the strangest feeling that Jenna Taylor had ever felt in her life. Was this what it always felt like to get drunk? Something told her that it had to be something else, because people couldn't actually enjoy feeling like this. One second she knew where she was and felt like she could hold a decent conversation, and the next she just felt like passing out or throwing up. It was a terrible mix and it couldn't be healthy.
When Jenna called Luke, she was in the state that she had no idea what she was doing. Anything she told Luke on the phone came out of nowhere; Her mind had no say so, it was just her mouth uttering words senselessly. Thank God it was Luke though, even though it was kind of out of character for him to totally drop everything like he did for her. Maybe he just wasn't that busy to begin with.
Jenna wasn't sleeping, she was just sort of surrendering to whatever her body wanted to do. She was slumped down in the seat in a very uncomfortable looking position, her heavy eyelids finally got a break and her eyes were closed and her mouth hung slightly open as she tilted her head back on the back of the seat. Jenna was really hating the seat belt of Luke's car at the moment.
When he finally spoke, Jenna opened her eyes slowly and turned her head slightly to face him. Did he really just agree to drop her off at the park? If Jenna was actually in her right frame of mind, or any other frame of mind really, then she would have been completely shocked and baffled by that. In Jenna's drunken and drugged up state though, it was relieving that Luke wanted to obey her commands of dropping her off in Central Park. Jenna finally closed her mouth and her eyes again, nodding slowly in conformation. Her head fell forward this time and her stringy brunette hair fell around her face.
Before she knew it, the car had stopped. The next thing Jenna heard was Luke saying something about not leaving her at the park. Jenna tilted her head against the back of the seat again, letting her mouth fall open once more as she watched Luke turn off the car, get out and walk around to her side to unfasten her seat belt and help her out. "This is your house," Jenna noticed. Inebriated or not, Jenna knew what Luke's parking garage looked like. It was big and spacious, Jenna remembered last year how the two of them spent an amble amount of time in Luke's car while in the garage- sometimes talking about things, rarely arguing, and a lot of the time making out instead of Luke taking her home like they were supposed to do in the first place. Sometimes Jenna missed times like that, but she knew everything was in the past for a reason and Luke's reputation would always come as number one priority. Jenna accepted that fact though, and maybe that's why things never grew hostile or regretful between them. Jenna knew Luke was Luke, she didn't want to change him or mold him into someone he wasn't, she had always liked him the way he was, playboy or not.
Jenna finally sat up and allowed Luke to help her out of the car. Standing on her own feet felt funny and instantly she lost her balance and fell back a bit into the car. Jenna knew this wasn't going to work and by the frustrated expressions on Jenna's face, she assumed Luke got that vibe as well. After figuring that, Jenna let out a heavy sigh and turned to Luke, wrapping her hands around his neck again, wordlessly saying that she wanted him to carry her again so that they could actually make progress instead of Jenna just falling all over the place and getting frustrated with herself.

luke had no idea how he was going to get jenna out of the car when she could barely seem to have any control over her body. he eventually managed to get her out of the car but she ended up just falling right back in but he was able to catch her before she was in completely. so obviously having her walk to the elevator wasn't an option for them and he was going to have to try something different. she seemed to have her own idea as she wrapped her arms around his neck. it seemed as though luke was going to have to carry her wherever they needed to go. her idea probably was the best so luke ended up picking her up bridal style and closing the door behind them with his foot. clicking his remote the car beeped and the doors shut themselves. sticking the keys into his pocket he made his way towards the elevator. luke was glad that they were alone in the garage not really wanting to have to deal with anyone seeing him carry a drunk girl up to his place. even though luke normally did come through here with different types of girls normally they were both drunk and luke definitely wasn't carrying them to the elevator. if they were drunk enough that he was going to have to take care of them all night he didn't see the point in taking them home with him in the first place. walking towards the elevator he pressed the up button with his foot and he waited for it to make its way to the lowest floor. you're really heavy luke told her not being serious but he was curious to see her reaction to what he said. jenna didn't weigh very much and compared to all the drills he had to do in sports and all the weight lifting this was nothing.
with a ding the elevator doors opened and they both entered and he clicked another button yet again but this time to the top floor. luke watched the numbers carefully not wanting to stop until they got too the top. humming along with the elevator music they finally got to his floor and the doors opened up once again. setting jenna down for a moment he kept one arm wrapped around her waist to keep her up while his other hand unlocked his door. the place was pitch black and empty as usual. helping her inside he turned on the lights so that he would actually be able to see where he was going. and here we go again he said as he picked her up once more and took her towards one of the empty rooms in the penthouse. setting her down on the bed luke wasn't sure if she wanted to change or not but he decided to bring her some clothes anyways just in case. walking to his room luke found some clean shorts and a shirt that she hopefully wouldn't mind having them. making his way back to where she was luke set the clothes on the stand next to the bed she was sitting in. in case you want to change luke told her motioning to the clothes. now it was his cue to leave so he walked over to the kitchen to get something to drink. there were some beers in the fridge so luke took one and went back to his room. at least having a drink would get his mind off the fact that jenna was sleeping in the next room. in his room luke stripped down to his boxers and sat on his bed. opening up the beer he sat and started chugging it down.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me . Jenna couldn't have been more gracious that Luke was willing to pick her up and carry her all the way up to his penthouse. If Luke didn't, then Jenna probably would have just laid out and slept right there in the parking garage without a second thought. At this point Jenna barely knew where she was and all she wanted to do was lay down and sleep... or maybe she wanted to talk? Or cuddle? Jenna couldn't be certain. Whatever it was, Jenna knew that she would pretty much do whatever anyone told her to do at that moment- she felt like lifeless pile of goop.
As Luke lifted her into his arms, Jenna rested her damp head against his chest, closing her eyes for a moment. She heard his remark on her being heavy and she slowly opened her eyes, "Yeah, I tried to fix that when I was younger but they wouldn't let me finish." Jenna slurred slightly. She didn't explain what she was referring to, but it was obvious what she had said revealed one of her darkest secrets from the past- her run with eating disorders. Jenna's mind was completely absent at that point, so that was the first thing that came to her mind when Luke said something about how heavy she was. Honestly, it didn't bother her. If she would have been unbearably heavy for him he would have put her down, Luke could handle it.
The rest of the journey up to Luke's floor was a complete blur. Jenna was unsure if Luke and her held any type of conversation or what, maybe she even fell asleep for a few moments, there was no telling. All she knew was that being carefully placed on one of the empty beds in Luke's penthouse was one of the greatest things she'd ever felt, yet she sat up and watched Luke point to the clothes, say something, and then dismiss himself.
Jenna looked from the clothes, to the bathroom and then back to the clothes as she tried to understand how she would get dressed. She felt completely uncomfortable in the clothes that she was currently wearing, so wearing Luke's would definitely be the best option. Jenna slung one leg over the bed and tried to balance herself enough to stand, but reluctantly fell with an embarrassing 'thud' on the hard wooden floor of the room. She let out an angry sigh as she peeled off her shirt, catching sight of the sink in the bathroom. Although a shower would be nice, even Jenna knew that would be an impossible task. She decided to try and stand up again, this time finally somewhat finding her balance and wobbling to the bathroom. Jenna ran the sink for a minute, feeling her eyelids grow heavy once again. She placed a heavy hand under the faucet of the nice bathroom, feeling a stinging cold sensation at first then the water warmed slightly. Although Jenna was still sweaty, ice cold water was clearly too much for her. She rested her head in the sink, face first as shaky hands held back her hair. The water felt nice on her face and cooled her down a little bit to the point where she didn't feel like she needed to throw up anymore.
After nearly falling asleep in the bathroom, Jenna blindly found a towel to dry her face off with. By then, her makeup was pretty much non-existent, so at least she didn't have to worry about looking anymore like a zombie than she already did.
Jenna stumbled back into the bedroom Luke had placed her in, suddenly realizing she didn't have a shirt on. She let out a heavy sigh as she pulled Luke's big shirt over her tiny frame, losing her balance again but this time landing on the bed. She traded, with much struggle, her tight jeans for a pair of Luke's shorts. Once Jenna was finally comfortable in Luke's clothes, she tried her best to get comfortable in the bed, but could only feel herself growing more hot and drenched with sweat. Jenna thought that maybe it was just the heat of the crammed apartment at the party that had brought Jenna to clearly being drowned in her own sweat, but it wasn't because it was happening again. Jenna felt like she was sick, yet completely out of control of her body. It was horrible.
She angrily pushed back the blankets on the big bed and slid off, holding her hands out instinctively for balance. It was nearly impossible for Jenna to obtain her balance, which was new to her because she grew up a gymnast. This was definitely not a case where that would help though, because Jenna continued to find herself grasping on to things as she walked aimlessly down the hallway.
Jenna finally found where Luke's room was and leaned her head against the doorway, "Luuuke." Jenna cried out pitifully, unsure of really what she was doing at all. It wasn't in an obnoxiously clingy manner that she appeared, but more in a 'I need you' sort of way. Jenna was in pain one second, then as numb as ever. All she wanted to do was lay down with Luke and for him to make everything better, two of which she was unsure if he could.

he paused for a moment when he heard jenna's response. what did she mean she tried to fix it? was she talking about trying to fix her weight? luke really hoped that she didn't have a problem with that because she was already way too light. jenna please, you're as light as a feather he reassured her even though he doubted she would remember anything she or he was saying in the morning. at least know luke knew he probably should be a little more careful when it came to the weight talk around her. he saw her leaning against the door way as she cried out his name. maybe leaving her alone to sleep wasn't the best idea. getting out of bed luke set the beer down on the night stand and made his way towards her. holding her up he walked her over to his bed and lay her down. luke sat down next to her and grabbed his beer to finish. he was glad to see at least jenna was able to get changed on her own. he wasn't too sure she would have liked it if he was the one who had to do it. telling her that in the morning probably wouldn't be a pretty sight. finishing the bottle of beer he definitely needed another one. the fact that he had jenna in his bed and completely vulnerable was hard to deal with. i'll be back in a second he told her getting up and making his way to the kitchen it only took him a few moments to go into the fridge once more and grab another one and he was back in no time. sitting down next to her once more he popped open the beer and took another sip. setting it down he turned towards jenna and brushed some hair out of her face. you can call me whenever you need me he told her with a failed attempt of a smile. at least because she was drunk luke could say whatever he wanted to her and be assured that she wouldn't remember it tomorrow. not many girls could say that he would come running if they called but jenna could always be sure that would be the case. even though they weren't together anymore he still felt protective over her. he didn't want her to deal with not knowing what she did the night before or sleeping with someone because she was too drunk to realize what she was doing. that was the type of life he was living but he was already use to it. pulling his hand away from her he grabbed his beer again and drank some more.
i think the only time i can be honest about things is when i know the other person won't remember anything he mostly told himself with a small chuckle. he had no problem talking to people when they were drunk or sleeping. he couldn't count the number of times he would just kind of confess everything when park was too drunk to know what he was saying. most people thought he was an open book and they knew everything about him. all they knew was that he was constantly sleeping around with girls and getting drunk out of his mind. they assumed that was what he was about and he was having the time of his life. sure that stuff was probably fun in the beginning or fun when you had it in portions. but when you did it all the time it just became a bad habit you can't run away from. he didn't enjoy what he was doing and yet he always found himself doing it anyways. he always found himself sneaking alcohol out of his father's liquor cabinet or going home with some girl he barely knew. make sure you never end up with a guy like me again he told her as he drank more. he wasn't sure how they ended up dating in the first place. luke was sure it was because everyone knew she was a virgin and he wanted to be the one who said he took it from her. he didn't have the best intentions when they began going out but then he actually got to know her and he realized what a good person she was. when they finally did sleep together luke was too late for the party because someone else had already been with her. even so as far as everyone knew nothing ever happened with jenna and everyone thought that was the reason they broke up. luke couldn't be with a girl that didn't put out. and he didn't mind everyone thinking that because his reputation was already down the drain why take hers along with it? luke kept his attention on the other side of the room the entire time not even sure if jenna was still awake. he wasn't sure he would be able to look at her in the face as he was thinking and saying the things he was. with a sigh luke finished up his beer and was ready to go to sleep but he'd have to wait until jenna was asleep first so he could go to the guest room and sleep. he'd let her borrow his bed but just for tonight.

maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me . Jenna felt herself being elevated into Luke's arms once again, but this time being placed carefully on his comfortable bed. Once she reached out and ran her hand over Luke's bed sheet, a sudden wave of nostalgia hit Jenna. She left her mouth hanging slightly open unattractively as her eyes fought to stay open, pitiful to say the least. She finally tilted her head to the side and closed her mouth, continuing to run her hand slowly along the bed sheet. Jenna would have recognized Luke's bedroom in any situation, sober or not. She put herself momentarily in the past, pretending to be that lucky sophomore that had something every girl at Belmont wanted- the foreign junior Luke Moreau.
Jenna relived in her mind how charming and perfect everything with Luke had been that night, aside from the fact that Jenna had to admit that she was lying about being a virgin in the first place... but it was nice while it lasted. Jenna wanted so badly to call Luke her 'first time', just because everything seemed so... right, with Luke. Besides, Jenna knew she was special when he brought her to his house. Luke never seemed to do things like that, but perhaps with her with was different, and Jenna liked pretending to know that.
She was lost so deep in thought that Jenna didn't even realize Luke had left and returned, laying down in the spot next to her. She lifted her heavy eyes up to make somewhat eye contact with Luke as he assured her something along the lines of "I'm always here for you" or something like that, while he brushed some hair out of her face. Jenna nodded her head slowly. "I hope." She slurred the two words together, offering a small, exhausted smile up at Luke. Though Jenna was completely inebriated at the time, she was peaceful. It wasn't until Luke pulled his hand away and sat back up that she snapped back to reality, or close to reality she could get in her current state.
"I will remember," Jenna assured him, running her words together as she lazily blinked over at Luke, "I always remember what you say. Like when you told me that night when we were dating that I was special." Jenna let out a small chuckle, grinning to herself, "I mean, Luke Moreau said that I was special?" She continued on carelessly, seeming to not mind that her words were awfully strung together. "Was I Luke? Was I special?" Jenna mumbled senselessly, tilting her head down a bit to his shoulder.
At this point, Jenna had no control over what she was doing, or saying, at all. She barely even knew where she was, or who she was with, but deep down she knew she was satisfied so it worked for her.
She heard Luke's words and tried to sit up the best she could. What did he mean? "Why not?" Jenna voice, looking somewhat concerned at Luke. Of course, sober Jenna would have understood completely why she couldn't we with Luke. Not that he was a bad guy in the slightest he just... was different than Jenna, sort of.
